Fenway Fest is in full swing. The fan event has yielded plenty of interesting tidbits through interviews with various players and executives. Here’s a rundown of some of the highlights, including a show of support for Alex Bregman from a former teammate and impressive candor from an infielder with an uncertain future.
A Bregman update, of course
Chief baseball officer Craig Breslow can’t seem to go a day without answering questions about the free agent third baseman. “We’re going to do everything we possibly can to add more offense,” Breslow told reporters, including Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald. “We saw the impact Alex (Bregman) had last year, on the field, in the clubhouse, in the community, someone that fits our team really well. He’s still out there, which means we have a chance.”
ESPN’s Buster Olney reported last weekend that the club has made an “aggressive” offer to Bregman. The Diamondbacks, Cubs, and Tigers have also been connected to the 31-year-old free agent. Bregman opted out of the three-year, $120MM contract he signed with the Red Sox last offseason in pursuit of a more lucrative deal. “The ball is in his court,” manager Alex Cora told reporters, including Chris Cotillo of MassLive.
It’s not just the front office looking to reunite with Bregman. Outfielder Roman Anthony expressed support, highlighting the work Bregman did with the young players. “I would love to have him back,” Anthony told reporters, including Starr. “He was … a huge part of my success. And a lot of the young guys, and not only the young guys, but many of the guys in the clubhouse … we’re all on the same page as to where we stand with him and what we hope happens.” Anthony specifically cited Bregman’s insights into preparation and offensive approach as beneficial to him in his rookie season.
Injuries limited Bregman to 114 games in his lone season in Boston, but he was quite productive when available. He slashed .273/.360/.462 with 18 home runs across 495 plate appearances. Bregman delivered his typical strong work with the glove at the hot corner. He earned his third All-Star selection.
Outfield trade sounds doubtful
Boston seemingly has four outfielders for three spots heading into the season. Anthony, Jarren Duran, Wilyer Abreu, and Ceddanne Rafaela have all shown enough to earn everyday roles. One of them could slot in at DH, but that would limit the playing time for Masataka Yoshida and Triston Casas. Despite the apparent glut at the position, along with rumors that Duran was drawing interest, Breslow shot down the notion that a trade was on the table.
“It was never likely in my mind,” Breslow told reporters, including Cotillo. “We’ve got really talented outfielders. When teams call, that’s what other executives point to. They’re young, they’re controllable, they’re dynamic, they’re talented, and can impact games in multiple ways. It’s really nice to be able to say they’re also members of the Boston Red Sox.”
Cora also provided additional context on the outfield plan, telling reporters he preferred Rafaela in center field and Abreu in right field, even against left-handed pitching. Breslow has previously expressed a desire to keep Rafaela in center field. He’s spent time at second base and shortstop over the past two seasons. Rafaela is a tremendous outfielder, earning Gold Glove honors for his efforts in center field this past season. Abreu also secured a Gold Glove in 2025, his second time receiving the award. He’ll likely be in the field when he plays. It’s the same-handed pitching remark that is interesting. The lefty-swinging Abreu had just 68 plate appearances against southpaws last season. He’s hit just .205 vs. lefties in his career.
If Cora gets his wish, with both Rafaela and Abreu regularly manning the outfield, Anthony and Duran would handle left field and DH. It’s hard to imagine former top prospect Anthony losing much playing time outside of the occasional rest day. Duran is coming off a modest 2025, but he was one of the top offensive forces in the league in 2024. It’ll be a lot for Cora to juggle next season without a roster move.
Injury updates
Casas is coming back from a ruptured patellar tendon in his right knee. He told reporters, including Christopher Smith of MassLive, that he’s uncertain if he’ll be ready for the start of the 2026 campaign. “As of right now, not too sure. Not trying to get ahead of myself, but I do see myself progressing well enough to maybe get into some spring training games. We’ll see how that goes because that’s a benchmark as well.”
Boston traded for Willson Contreras to handle first base, which leaves Casas’ role in question once he gets healthy. The aforementioned logjam in the outfield doesn’t help matters. Casas seems to be taking the Contreras addition in stride, though. “He’s a better player than me and has been for his entire career. To upgrade at a position that has been deficient for the last two years is exactly what the team needed.” (relayed by Cotillo)
A few more quick-hitters in the health department…
- Marcelo Mayer expects to be fully ready for Spring Training. His 2025 season was cut short by a wrist injury in August. “I’m pretty much doing full baseball activity, like a normal ramp-up, as I would for a regular season going into spring training,” Mayer said.
- Anthony is also expected to be good to go for the spring. An oblique injury cost him most of September and all of the postseason. The team believed he might have been able to return for the ALCS, but they were knocked out in the ALDS.
- Kutter Crawford is on track to return to action for the first time since 2024. He missed all of last season with knee and wrist issues. “At this point, it’s just normal progression,” Crawford said. “I got off the slope yesterday, and it felt good. And now we just build up the mound progression.”
- Carlos Narvaez had knee surgery at the start of the offseason, but told reporters (including Smith) he would be a full go come springtime.

Casas played a horrible 3b six years ago, give him a shot.
Mayer seems like a slightly better option …
Bregman reportedly signing with Cubs. 5 years, $175m. Too much $$
Guess the offer from the Red Sox was not aggressive enough.
Whaaat????? So he can be horrible again?! B
Yeah. Give him a chance to rise to the challenge. If he doesn’t do well, Cora can just give him a forehead kiss and a tug job, and he will be fine.
Where’s that sarcasm font when you need it?? 😂 Well done, sir.
Bregman is not what he’s asking. Sign Suarez or trade for Arenado and make sure they take Hicks as part of the return
Mayer is a LOT better option than Arenado, who is completely cooked.
I wouldn’t say “completely cooked”. A change could reinvigorate him. That said, I also say give Mayer a shot, hopefully at 2nd.
dewey – I know exactly what you’re thinking, but you shouldn’t be thinking it! LOL!
You’re thinking Arenado is another Mike Lowell.
When Lowell came to the Sox, yes he was coming off a career low .658 OPS. But he was only 32, he had two very strong seasons right before his last season in Miami, and he was still at the top of his game defensively with a Gold Glove in his final Marlins season.
Arenado on the other hand is about to turn 35 and has had drastic offensive declines each of the past 3 seasons, and his defense has been alright but not great. Add to that the curse of the .666 last season and there’s no way I’d want any part of the guy.
Fever, that is a fantastic comp for what some folks would hope for Arenado, as well as a breakdown for how Arenado is different and not likely to experience a similar outcome. Well said!
Fever, stop acting like my wife as I was in this case speaking generally. Don’t give me that much credit as Lowell was not on my mind. I still think of the pre-full time WS DH and Youkie having to be benched. He was beginning his prime but with Lowell and Papi, he had to sit.
That’s a great way to make the team significantly worse lol
The Red Sox can afford to wait while Bregman, Bichette and Suarez are all still available and see where there asking prices go.
*their
No outfield trade? Sounds like the Astros but with the infield. Stubborn to trade from your best place to trade from.
Posturing. Of course they’re gonna make a trade, although it will likely be Casas, which would take Yoshida out of the OF mix. Four OF for three spots, plus DH vs lefties, is probably 500 PA’s each. That’s totally fine.
I don’t see Casas being traded or affecting the outfield jam at all. Based on the article he’s not even sure if he’ll be ready to play at the beginning of the season and the Red Sox can just leave him in AAA (he still has 3 option years).
Duran and Abreu have both struggled vs lefties in their career. If either are DHing vs lefties, especially over Romy, that wouldn’t make much sense.
The Red Sox will probably put Casas on the IL and then send him to AAA on a “rehab” stint. That buys them some time to figure things out.
Nothing to figure out: Casas will be in AAA all year (except in an emergency). Contreras is the 1B. Then, after this season, the Sox won’t mind eating one year of Yoshida’s contract by letting him go, thus letting Contreras and Casas share DH/1B in 2027. That assumes Casas progresses toward his norm again, but he’ll have all year in AAA to get there. Everyone (including Casas) needs to realize he is starting over. He must prove he can hit and that he can stay a full year on the field.
I can see if Casas shows he’s ready, an early in-season trade of Duran if nothing changes before then.
The only benefit of placing Casas on the IL before sending him on a triple-A rehab assignment would to delay sending him down for first of 5 times. (the other benefit is to possibly save an option year by not sending him down at all, but he has 3 options remaining, so I don’t see that as a real benefit)
It doesn’t seem like the Red Sox would gain much by doing this, but they also wouldn’t lose anything by doing it either – so certainly possible.
Casas can’t be traded until he shows he can play in games. That he is past that nasty injury. Barring a major injury to another player or a trade of Yoshida, Casas will eventually be traded. Just not before he is healthy.
Seamaholic- how are they trading Casas? He has almost no value, and sounds like he won’t be ready for the start of the season
I don’t see why fans are always in such a rush to call for teams to trade down to ordinary (or less) depth. Yes, it’s not the most efficient use of talent to have that set of OFers, plus Contreras and Casas and Yoshida, but if kept the worst-case is that the team can let things unfold and adjust from there. If they suffer a major injury, they’re covered. If one of the players has a big drop-off season, they don’t have to keep rolling him out there full time. Casas can start off in AAA and they can see whether he locks in or not – if not, there’s the decision right there, and if he does lock in that creates an upgrade setup if someone else is scuffling.
Roster flexibility tends to be underrated by fans. No doubt, if the right offer comes along it makes sense to pull the trigger, but it’s better to stand pat and retain the flexibility than to force a weak, best-available deal.
I don’t understand it either. I notice some people who only care about the 1-9 like they’re almost assuming that’s all you need for the 162. And as long as your nine are good then you’re in the playoffs.
If the Red Sox are extremely lucky one of those four will get injured at some point and that’s it. The other three will cover having typical seasons and they’ll get close to 15 WAR from the OF but this is baseball and we all know that’s not going to happen. Someone is going to have a down year, multiple guys will probably get injured, you’re probably going to have a sub-replacement level bat in there for multiple games, etc. They (and everyone else) need depth if you want to hit 90 wins ESPECIALLY in the AL east which is going to be crazy this year.
Best evidence of zero depth equaling failure, just look at the Angels over the past ten years. Almost every off-season they accumulate a solid batting order and then halfway through the season, multiple guys are injured and two-thirds of your lineup is AAAA journeyman players struggling to put up a 70 wrc+. Depth depth depth, never underestimate the need for depth.
Excellent comment., I fully agree and couldn’t have said it better myself.
TC is not being treated not right now that would be moronic. As for Yoshida… They need to find a place for him… Eat half the contract and be done with it.
Injuries happen and having to find playing time for 4 good MLB quality options is a good problem to have and much better than having to play a 4A option. All teams have a 4th OF. The Red Sox just have ones that can be a starter if needed.
Also, it solves the issue of the appearance of platooning Abreu after saying they wouldn’t. Now they are just finding playing time.
If Duran had a whole spring training working out in the infield it seems at least plausible that he could play 2nd or 3rd…
Duran was a 2B in college but has only played 20 games at that position since being drafted, and that was his first season in lower A ball. It would be quite the ask to have him try playing there now.
It would make more sense for the team to accept the reality that they need to move him and stop asking for the sky and the moon in return. The Sox will never realize his full value because he’s not playing CF ahead of Rafaela and keeping him to be a part time LFer with Anthony needing to play ahead of him is getting even less value. Even a modest trade for a quality reliever and a decent minor league prospect and a wild card lower prospect will be more value than what the team will realistically get out of Duran by keeping him.
Really Ken?
You think a reliever which can be had instead for cheap money on the FA market, or, pulled from the plethora of #5sp depth guys floating around, plus some “decent” prospect likely to not amount to anything, and a wild card filler prospect are worth more than what Duran supplies as your 4th OF to fill in for injuries which *always* happen every year, or be a PH/PR guy off the bench?
Any return *MUST* be worth equal production and value. So we need 3 years of 5-9 WAR in production coming back, at a 7m salary this year plus reasonable arb raises. Otherwise why bother?
Jeez, duran posted 4.7 bwar last season, and people act like it was a bad downturn. Sure, it wasn’t the 8.7 from the year before, but its still more than most guys post.
5-9 WAR production. You’re dreaming if you think that’s what Duran will provide the next 3 years. Let’s stop overvaluing him here. As a 4th OFer he’s going to be lucky to get to 2 WAR of value this year.
Ken – the last 2 years Duran has been an 8.7 WAR player, then a 4.7 WAR player. It happened, its a fact, and nobody can take that away.
So, in what would do you trade that for a 1-2 WAR player and some non-elite prospects?
Throw in a couple mlb top-100s and someone controllable of value, and maybe youre entering the ballpark.
Duran is like the Brock Purdy of the Red Sox. He puts up numbers, but gets no respect at all as if he’s a replacement level player.
Try and follow along here. 2 years ago he had that high WAR value because he played a high number of games in CF which elevated his fielding WAR. He’s not playing CF ahead of Rafaela. So that’s gone. Now he’s also not playing LF most games ahead of Anthony, so his WAR is going to drop even further. This has less to do with Duran and what he’s capable of delivering when he plays and more to do with the fact that he simply doesn’t have an every day role on this team any longer. So trading him and getting players who WILL contribute value makes a lot more sense. He provides zero WAR sitting on the bench.
Thats like saying you sell the 1987 Lamborghini with 50k miles for $1000 because it just sits in your garage, and, the $1000 will do more than the sitting car.
You still need to get *fair value* for what you give up. The return value *is* about Duran’s potential and what he can put up if played in the field.
Right now you have an elite rotation for your 4 OFers, and better insurance on the grass than anyone else in MLB. Guys get hurt, look at last season, or any other. How many times were outfielders out of action?
Thats worth more than getting a minimal production piece back, which, you’ve already got the equivalent of in your system anyways.
3 years of 5+ WAR PER SEASON coming back for Duran or why bother?
Duran should not sit for anyone. Over the past 2 seasons only Judge and Soto have a higher WAR.
You have no idea what you’re talking about
King, you don’t trade Duran for the sake of doing it. It has to at least on paper make sense. Take the discussions with KC. You can say things about Ragans as well. He’s no guarantee to stay healthy and who knows how he will do playing in the AL East? One for one still sounds fair to me.
That’s because you’re overvaluing the Sox player and undervaluing the KC player because you’re a Sox fan. Try proposing a one for one trade in any of the online chats here with any of the regular writers and see how quickly they shoot down that idea.
I agree my initial take of a solid reliever and prospects may have been on the light side for a return but the notion that Duran is worth an ace or potential ace starter or even a solid #2 starter straight up like many Sox fans (and apparently Breslow as well) is also ridiculous. He’s simply not that valuable.
King, we agree to disagree. Duran has improved his game (read my early posts on his arm and overall defense). As another poster wrote, Duran seems to be heavily undervalued by others yet everyone seems to want him. A fair trade is one that you question for both sides and as I mentioned, Ragans has considerable talent but he’s not Crochet for example.
Why would they not ask the sky and the moon for a player that has averaged 6.7 WAR the past 2 seasons?
Why would Anthony need to play ahead of a to p3 OF in the game?
Are some Red Sox fans the only people too dense to see how good he is?
Meow- Duran was an infielder in college and was quickly transitioned out in low levels of the minors. It’s not happenning
I would give Duran a go at second his arm sucks anyway
4.7 WAR is not a modest season for anybody, even a guy that topped 8 the season before.
Wright: “Duran is coming off a modest 2025”
Jaffe in his Fangraphs chat the other day: “a guy who had a pretty meh age-28 season”
Lots of other comments just like this when his trade discussions come up
Dude has got to be one the least-respected 4+ WAR players; he’s been fantastic since the moment he was handed a full-time job
I doubt Jay Jaffe even watches baseball at this point
This.
Also, Jay Jaffe isn’t a journalist, so he isn’t tied to any journalism ethics like many baseball writers. He writes whatever he wants to follow the narrative he’s creating, often very anti-Red Sox as he’s a big Yankees fan.
Talented writer, but there’s no reason to put any weight on anything he says.
Wright must not realize that at a 4.7 bWAR, only Wyatt Langford was better than Duran among players who played the majority of their time in LF. Over the past 2 seasons only 2 OF have been better, Aaron Judge and Juan Soto. Duran is playing in rarefied air.
Either that or he should have added the words “by his standards” before Duran is coming off a modest 2025, because in no way is 4.7 WAR modest unless the player has just come off an 8.7 WAR season.
Jaffe has become someone that is not even worth reading unless its only stat related. He gets the math parts right. He just seems so full of himself when giving an opinion that he doesn’t bother with things like logic or facts. Its Jay Jaffe so his opinion should count for more than that, right? Give me a break.
It’s like Red Sox fans started complaining when he had one cold streak and then everyone started saying he had a bad season as if it weren’t easily, verifiably false.
The usual worthless comments from Sox management. If DH will be split between Duran and Anthony, what happens with Yoshida and when Casas is healthy?
And what about management last year saying it’s important for Roman to play outfield every day?
If they don’t acquire an infielder, Rafaela will be playing 2B … as he should.
Fever, Casas can sit in Worcester for all I care for a while. As for yoshida, I’ll let injuries get him some playing time.
Every one of Rafaela/Anthony/Duran/Abreu bring more value to the team than Yoshida ever can.
If he wants to force the issue, get healthier, and play better. Put up a monster ST that forces bostons hand.
GaSox – I know how you feel about Casas and Yoshida ;O)
Of course I agree with you about the four outfielders, but that’s exactly why they should put Rafaela at 2B when/if Casas is healthy.
Loomer said it best, if the greatest defensive player on the planet (Mookie) can shift from outfield to infield for the good of the team, then Rafaela shouldn’t complain about doing the same.
Rafaela is not coming out of center field without some sort of emergency. Nor should that be entertained unless emergency happens. I would try Duran. His arm is Not an outfield arm. It’s go time for Roman Anthony in left field
I get plenty of heat for having this opinion but I agree. Rafaela to 2B. I don’t think the drop off from him to Duran in CF is that great and Rafaela will more than likely develop into an All-Star 2B. That’s not a demotion. The Dodgers did it with Mookie and the results worked out fine for them.
bob – Well said! I know Duran had a rough year in the field last year, but prior to that he was an elite defender.
If moving Rafaela to 2B helps the offense by getting ADA’s bats in the lineup, that more than offsets the lost defense in CF.
Rafaela is not coming out of center field without some sort of emergency. Nor should that be entertained unless emergency happens. I would try Duran. His arm is Not an outfield arm. It’s go time for Roman Anthony in left field
FPG- imho, i think moving Rafaela is a mistake, however, i am not opposed to moving him. But, if Rafaela is gonna play 2B he needs to play 150 games there. He plays so much better in a consistent role. The bigger mistake than taking his glove out of CF is moving him back and forth, or giving someone like Romy extra games there.
Rafaela “should” play INF if nobody else is acquired? Why? He’s an ordinary glove there and an ordinary bat. It’s very nice that he has the flexibility to essentially be the primary backup middle infielder for “free”, but even with a log-jam the team should be mixing and matching innings at 2B (including Rafaela playing some there) while he sees his most usage in center.
Fever, I disagree on playing second. You don’t mess with perhaps the best defensive outfield in the league. Breslow said what was appropriate for the moment. He knows what he wants for Duran and is waiting on others.
Red Sox have got to leave Rafaela in CF. 2nd base is such a downgrade for him and it’s also one of the least defensively demanding positions. A lot teams put their scrubs at 2B, especially since the new infield shift rules…Rafeala way way too good defensively to play there.
100%!
They all have options. Boston has no roster pressure at all.
Nurse- who are you sending down out of that group of four?
Thats not a solution
I can’t believe the Red Sox and Giants can’t come to a fair trade for Duran.
Who would the Giants offer?
Obviously the Red Sox would ask for Webb, Giants would say no… Don’t see where it goes from there.
Not Giants….Dodgers.
I would love to see a guy like Connecticut boy Emmett Sheehan come back. But, Dodgers might have to eat some money too, like Hicks’ contract perhaps
Duran for Glasnow
Lou Merloni hit the nail on the head the other day when he mentioned that Casas has an option and might be better served getting 150 AB’s in Worcester to get the feel for playing every day back. Let Contreras open the season at 1B and Yoshida DH and reevaluate with Casas in the middle of May
Rsox – Casas starting the season in AAA is expected and tolerable, but if they keep him down there for a long time while he demolishes minor league pitching (like Roman last year) that’s where people will draw the line. It all depends on health of course.
Agree Fever but injuries also happen. Barring injuries, if everyone plays like it’s their walk year, the Sox could be ten games up by June. More likely though, someone either gets hurt, plays well to force a trade or one or more falter and it works itself out. That said, I’m still expecting another trade or two before opening day.
I pray to the baseball gods in charge of free agency to send Bregman somewhere other than Boston.
NOT to Detroit!
Because you don’t want them to fill their last hole with another All Star on the way to another playoff appearance?
Free Agency baseball gods work lickity split
“He’s still out there, which means we have a chance.”
That really sounds like they aren’t pursuing Bregman with any effort.
or it could mean they made him their offer and are waiting on him to take it or leave it.
smkell – Or it’s just a negotiating ploy. You don’t want to sound too enthusiastic about signing him, that gives him leverage.
It’s like in high school, the best way to attract a girl is to pretend you’re not that into her ;O)
FPG- I think they’ve been nothing but enthusiastic in talking about Bregman. Unfortunately, just not so much with dollars LOL
Sounds like a truly neutral statement in which he isn’t placing any handicaps on things. Bregman like others is waiting for offers to improve despite a lack of motivation of teams to do so and teams are left waiting.
soxu – I think other free agents like Tucker and Bellinger are part of the reason Bregman won’t sign yet. Whichever teams lose out on those two players could likely put more emphasis on what’s left, which would be Bregman.
Everything you can would have been to sign Alonso.
Alonso was the perfect fit for this team. We needed a power guy – check. We needed a 1B – check. We needed a right-handed bat – check. And not even an offer? Dereliction of duty by upper management.
155 million? No check. Wilson a better option.
Gary- better in what way? His statistics are almost half of Alonso’s for half the salary. So, you get what you pay for
Sad – And on top of that, the Contreras contract was given after a season in which he caught half his team’s games. He was expected to continue catching, and is therefore getting paid like a catcher. If the Cards knew he would be just a 1B/DH for most of the contract, they’d have given him less.
bob – The way the Sox look at it, they saved $115.5M by acquiring Contreras instead of signing Alonso.
That’s what it’s all about, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Red Sox!
I hope your team does well.
Meanwhile, I am on board with the Red Sox. They look pretty good.
In a shocker to absolutely no one, Breslow will hang on to all 4 OF while the team has glaring holes elsewhere and Yoshida clogging up the DH spot. Yayyyyyy
If anything Hicks is worse than Yoshida. Thankfully both are seeing their time coming to an end.
does Yoshida have options ?
His contract does not allow for him to be sent down to the minors (unless he were to agree to it). There are no options with international FAs.
To clarify: There are options with international free agents BUT there aren’t options IF the international free agent has 6+ years of experience in a recognized foreign baseball league (NPB/KBO) and signed at/after the age of 25.
I’m assuming this is what you meant.
In a shock to absolutely no one, the sorts of fans who badly undervalue roster depth and flexibility would rather give away roster depth for an uninspiring return than just stand pat and look for better or just enjoy the value of the depth if better doesn’t emerge. We can “yay” that front offices don’t think your way.
I value roster depth and flexibility.
I also can see that having someone like Abreu/Duran/Rafalea/Anthony/Yoshida consistently on the bench while having no one at 3B or a top of the rotation arm to pair with crochet isn’t the way to success. See last season as an example. If they had better SP, they have a much better shot to win in the playoffs.
Joemo- I’ve been saying for two years that Breslow’s fatal flaw is his inability to look at the 26 Man as a single entity instead of 26 silos.
It’s obvious that the roster has serious holes which go unaddressed, but hes busy running around making a Guiness Book of Records number of trades….
What glaring holes?
2B or 3B
LHP BP arm
Top of the rotation arm to pair with crochet.
Backup C because Wong.
It benefits everyone (except the guy still signing Yoshi’s fat checks) to release him. The Sox can rotate their four OF at DH, someone can sign Yoshida for the league minimum, and he can play somewhere every day… unless you can figure out a trade that gets you a little against the salary or player or two.
If you’re going to pay him anyway, why not just hold on him. Better to still potentially benefit from the guy you’re paying than to pay him and get zero value for that continued “investment”.
I’m relieved to hear they’re holding all the outfielders. I just like them all too much to force a trade. Duran makes the most sense to trade and (outside Roman) he’s the best one. It’s hard to play a GG CF anywhere else, but Cedanne’s versatility adds ridiculous value, and we should throw him around the infield if needed. We’re deep now at OF, 1B, C, and pitching generally. Time to add Bo or Breg.
Bregman to the Cubbies
Bregman:
Red Sox teammates love him and want him back. Consider him a mentor and leader.
Cora loves him and says he ticked boxes even they didn’t expect him to check.
Boston media is saying it will take a 5-6 year, $30+ million AAV deal to bring him back.
Olney says the Red Sox have made an “aggressive offer”, whatever that means beyond Olney doesn’t actually know exactly what is going on.
Cora says that the ball is now in Bregman’s court implying that the negotiating is over and its now up to Bregman to say yea or nay.
Does that clear it up at all? Do we think he is going back?
The same fans that want Alonso and Bregman order DoorDash every single night
dougd. Red Sox fans Crack me up. You continually overvalued your own players and think you can just aquire whoever you want. Glad Bregman left you. I see you fighting it out for last place with Baltimore this year.
Losing Bergman is not a loss. He will be just above league average for the first four years of the contract (generous) and absolutely terrible the last year. Good riddance.
Theoretically couldn’t they trade Yosjida back to Japan for an arm
