April 21st: This is now official, with Gray placed on the IL with a right hamstring strain and Samaniego recalled.
April 20th: The Red Sox will place Sonny Gray on the 15-day injured list tomorrow, reports Chris Cotillo of MassLive. The veteran righty left this morning’s start with right hamstring tightness and is slated for an MRI on Tuesday. Rookie southpaw Tyler Samaniego will be recalled as the corresponding move to give Boston an extra reliever for the next few games.
Although the Sox won’t know the severity of Gray’s injury until tomorrow, they’ve expressed optimism. The pitcher and skipper Alex Cora each said they don’t believe it’s a serious injury. Gray missed time with strains of the same hamstring in 2022 and ’24. That history adds some confidence to his feel that this isn’t a major issue but also incentivizes the Sox to be cautious. He’ll be eligible to return on May 6.
Gray’s first season in Boston has been a mixed bag. He owns a 4.30 earned run average with a much diminished 13% strikeout rate over 23 innings. Gray struggled in his team debut against Cincinnati, rebounded with consecutive quality starts against San Diego and Milwaukee, then was knocked around for five runs over four innings in Minnesota last week. He had allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings in today’s start.
The early exit forced the Sox to lean heavily on their bullpen. They used seven relievers to hang onto an eventual 8-6 win over Detroit. Long man Jack Anderson, who threw three innings and 41 pitches yesterday, was the only reliever who didn’t get into today’s game. Boston has divisional series against the Yankees, Orioles and Blue Jays before their next off day on April 30. Samaniego hasn’t pitched since Friday, so he should be available for a couple innings tomorrow. He was just optioned back to Triple-A last week but can be recalled to replace an injured pitcher.
Boston’s schedule will require them to turn to a fifth starter this weekend unless they want to run a bullpen game. Top prospect Payton Tolle seems the logical candidate after making a late-season debut in 2025. The big lefty has recorded 19 strikeouts while allowing eight runs (five earned) through 15 Triple-A frames this year.
Tolle hasn’t pitched since April 12. Cotillo notes that the Sox scratched Tolle from his Triple-A start over the weekend in case he was needed at the MLB level with uncertainty about potential weather postponements and doubleheaders. Connelly Early, Ranger Suárez and Brayan Bello are lined up for the series against the Yankees. Boston hasn’t announced a probable starter for Friday’s opener with Baltimore, but Garrett Crochet would be on regular rest for that outing. Gray’s next turn would have come on Saturday.

Glad they didn’t trade the top pitching prospects now.
I don’t think they ever thought about trading Tolle or Early.
It’s a drag for Gray, but he’ll be back, until then, it gives Tolle more experience, they’re obviously going to need him this year
His name came up in the Marte talks although there was no indication that the Sox were ever willing to do that.
Glad they got Harrison to step right into rotation.
GM – They also had Dobbins, Fitts and Criswell (pitching well as a reliever but was a starter) however Fitts is on the IL.
Why do they insist on acquiring SP’s with long injury histories?
Except Sale they just gave him away and paid for him to pitch elsewhere. Guess he was finally healthy and time for him to go. I have no idea what they are doing sometimes. They make a lot of good moves but their bad ones are as bad as it gets. Makes Babe Ruth trade look good. At least they got something out of it $.
Let’s see if Harrison can hold up. He just missed time with a knee problem and wrist problem. Let’s see if Dobbins can return from his torn ACL. Fitts is out for the season. Criswell is doing pretty well as a reliever.
GM – They haven’t made a lot of good moves under Breslow, not yet anyway. Can you think of one trade where Breslow looks like he stole a player? I know last year people prematurely thought Narvaez was a steal, he’s kinda a mess right now. Contreras trade could be good, too early to know though. Meanwhile the May, Durbin, Sale, Priester, Oviedo trades all looking quite bad so far (to name a few).
FPG: The trades for Contreras and Durbin both happened last offseason. You say it is is too early to conclude anything good about the Contreras trade, but not too early to conclude something negative about the Durbin trade. Things like this is why people tell you they doubt you are a Red Sox fan.
Harrison can hold up just as good as anyone else as long as his 1b with a catchers arm doesn’t fire a fastball at his knee from point blank range as he is running to cover 1b.
You aren’t going to at least steal a lot of players. If you just do a win win trade that is good enough. I think Oviedo trade was that. Pirates had pitching depth Sox had outfield depth. Oviedo Password just depth pieces. If you teach Password not to K as much he can be a all star. Teach Oviedo some control he is a #4 starter.
Priester trade was fine. The prize was the draft pick. There was potential playoff starting high-school pitchers available for them to draft. They took a college arm and electric arm but with reliever risk. But potential closer if starter doesn’t work out. I go big so would have went high-school but they got a valuable draft pick and took a good player. Contreras trade seems good if I could recall it. I liked the Devers salary dump and getting a #3 starter with potential to be a #2. Duran trade I thought they did really well.
But they just gave Harrison away. And Sale even worse. Gave him away and gave Atlanta a giant bag of $.
Will say this. I would take all the former red Sox gms over Breslow. Prefer what Cubs Cards Pirates Phillies have done.
I remember Fever for a long time and mostly Sox articles. He was the only Sox fan who wasn’t jumping up and down with joy when they gave away Sale for nothing.
Fever is THE red sox fan. Like Padres I think Gwynning. Cards Don Osborne. Atlanta Nashville Jeff. Etc. Fever is the red sox fan. Every team has one and he is yours.
The Red Sox dumped Sale’s contract after he was hurt for 5 straight years. They saved $10M in the dump. I was happy to get rid of him. He apologized to Red Sox fans as he left.
Its also puzzling how he’d refer to Gray as a pitcher with a long injury history. Hes missed a decent chunk of time once, back in 2016.
GM – Thanks, I appreciate the kind words.
I don’t talk much about my background, but I feel very comfortable saying I’ve devoted more time, effort and resources to the Red Sox than anyone. Being unhappy with a few players and management doesn’t make me any less of a fan. I’m very careful with how I choose my words, and I support my opinions.
Most of all, I put forth a lot of time and effort here (I know, too much) for one reason only – I love talkin’ baseball. No compensation whatsoever. I’m guessing some people don’t realize that, which is sad.
Fever, please give Durbin some time, I think youre gonna like him. Alot of Brewer fans weren’t too keen on him when he fist came up, didnt break camp and struggled when finally promoted.
Still feel confident hes gonna be great for you guys, hes built for that park.
They certainly dumped the Sale contract alright. Atlanta was thrilled have that 10m dumped on them. Glad that made Sox fans happy as well. I find that weird but ummm Congratulations on getting rid of Sale!!!!
Fever Congratulations on dumping that whole 10m of Sale salary.
GM: Sale’s odds to win the 2024 Cy Young were as long as +6600 in March 2024. He was not expected to get anywhere close to winning the Cy Young. It wasn’t just Breslow that thought that.
And I bet on him!
Full disclosure I bet on multiple players to win it as well as the pirates and Royals to win division and world series. But made out like a bandit. You only have to hit on 1 of those.
You shouldn’t be questioning fenways fandom. You haven’t been active here long enough to. I am infamous with red Sox fans for calling out how awful that Sale trade was from day one. Why they give me a pass for poking fun at it still. They were rude and arrogant to me at the time. I didn’t then nor now have anything against them. I’m a freaking Pirates and small market fan. Just called it like I seen it. I have a pretty impressive track record but really anyone who knows just a bit about baseball had a good laugh at Boston on that one. That trade never had a chance.
You see my comment below?
“You gave Milwaukee Snow white and all you got in return was 3 dwarfs. Didn’t even get 7 just 3.”
Now come on. That’s good stuff right there.
I had to chime in. It’s way too early to tell about most the trades or received players; especially those traded this past off season. How many white Pedroia after his April start in 2006? I was actually a Bloom fan, but looking at his total history with Boston, we never would’ve succeeded without pitching. Breslow’ emphasis has been on pitching and let’s see where that goes at the end of his term. Right now I’m happy and I blame the bad start on the players. Give them time though. One bad thing about Breslow and being fair, is everyone knew we needed a right handed bopper and we still don’t have one. Unless he gets one, this team is not going to win.
Like it wasn’t even a week after the trade and Atlanta gave him an extension. I hate to pile on but it’s like that old comedian here’s your sign. Atlanta front office I imagine they did back flips up and down the hall the second that trade was finished.
@fever
We forgot our favorite player.
.174 .240 .174 .414
6 million dollars.
On a positive note he’s better than Durbin!
#FireBreslow or too soon?
Durbin is *exponentially* better than IKF out of the gate. So, no positive note for IKF there. In addition to no bat, IKF looks bad defensively which was the whole reason they signed
Guess who leads 3B defensively in the American League? Since the first week of the 2026 season even? Yeah, it’s Caleb Durbin. Oh, he also leads the Red Sox offense in Doubles.
GM – How crazy is it they waited 5 freakin’ years for Sale to be healthy and back in form, and he finally is THEN they decide to dump him with just one guaranteed year left (and a $20M team option).
Buy high, sell low. Brilliant.
Making it even worse was replacing Sale by giving $39M to Giolito who was awful the prior 2 years and lasted just two ST starts before being out for the season. Karma, baby.
GM – You have the exact same approach to wagering as I. For me it’s only MLB futures and big horse races, but when I do I go for the longshot odds. I don’t win as often, but when I win it’s big and more than makes up for the losses.
Rangers/DBacks WS was awesome!
GM – Unfortunately some here don’t incorporate humor in their posts, ever. Therefore they don’t appreciate when others do.
dewey – You are 100% correct about waiting. Unfortunately many people are reactionary and quick to make assumptions.
For instance when MLBTR asked everyone more than a month ago to grade Breslow’s offseason, I refused because it’s impossible to know before any games are even played. And yet many were quick to give him A’s and B’s for grades.
Those same people saw Duran and Abreu hitting homeruns in the WBC and ST and therefore assumed they would have big homerun seasons. They saw Oviedo pitching well early in ST and assumed he would finally be healthy and productive. The list goes on and on.
GM – Yes it’s especially nauseating how Bloom and Breslow have been so quick to gamble on high risk free agents, but aren’t willing to stick with their own low-risk players already on contracts.
So they think they know free agent players better than the player’s former team, when in reality the Sox don’t even know their own players.
GM – The Bionic Man couldn’t even lay down a bunt, failing so badly he struck out trying.
Duran was livid.
Cubs GM is Carter Hawkins. You’re probably thinking about of Jed Hoyer, but was he ever a Sox GM? Even if he was, he hasn’t won anything in Chicago since Theo left.
coop – Yes, Hoyer & Cherington filled in after Theo made his childish gorilla suit exit.
I’m not thrilled about much these days when it comes to the MLB team. Willson looks like a winner I guess 🤷🏻♂️
They want the “chipper chicken” to quote Fsther of the Bride, besides, they only want to win a wildcard, they no longer care about division titles. They view the entire AL as competition and if they finish in the top 6 they’re happy. Thank heavens for The Yankees, Dodgers, & Jay’s to a lesser extent, they act like they want to win division titles.
Breslow should have used this money towards signing Schwaber. They desperately needed more power and he was a perfect fit. I don’t think Gray is going to do much. Breslow isn’t up to the task, but then again he was the GM of last resort.
Sean – Still a lot of good talent on the MLB team. I expect Mayer to improve his hitting, Roman is already improving, Early is looking great, Story will have a similar year to 2025, Whit & Chap are solid as usual, Ranger will be a solid #2 …. but I admit, I watch every game no matter how bad the team. After all, I lived through the Bobby Valentine year ;O)
Right there with ya pal
The thing is a supporter of team wishes and hopes that team does well and succeeds. Yet also supports them through the bleak periods and streaks. Heck I remember pre-Henry and the WS curse. Yet, you often question the management and ownership who try their best if titles are looked at. If trades, drafts or FA was an exact science then all 32 clubs would do it perfectly. Sadly, sports is played by humans and run by humans. Most fans complained when they didn’t trade , Breslow tried to strengthen the weakness of the last playoffs and fix 1B . Will it work ? We will see in September but the team is trying to be competitive and win .
Dont forget the trade for Narvaez or Jake Bennett. FPG doesnt have a good memory.
“Prefer what … Phillies”
Have you seen their record, theyre a trainwreck right now.
AI GM is a troll, or second account.
FPG wasnt upset with the trade of Sale for Grissom. What are you talking about?
mlbtraderumors.com/2023/12/braves-red-sox-trade-ch…
Here’s the original article. FPG says nothing about being disappointed with the trade. Keep making up things and stroking him though.
How many people who dislike the Priester trade even know who John Holobetz is? If you don’t, then you don’t know the trade.
Fever, that Tibbs guy hasn’t done anything for the Dodgers so far.
May pitched for the Red Sox for a few minutes.
Take the win.
/s
French – I always support the players, no matter how good or bad. I can’t think of any I disliked. Do I get disappointed with some? Sure. But I want every player on the Sox to do well.
Management and ownership is different, I don’t support some of their decisions because they negatively impact the team.
I don’t root for billionaires to make even more money, it’s all about winning and putting a competitive product on the field.
@fever I always have a few sure things that pay for every other bet I make. This year pirates 73 wins. Over on that was easiest $ I will ever make. I don’t have gambling addiction. Don’t even enjoy it. But if they are going to give me free $ I’ll take it. Skenes to win cy young no way. But I like Ashcraft!
If you have a president above you you’re not a gm. Just the head assistant gm with a gm title.
You aren’t supposed to win titles. It’s hard to do unless you spend half a billion. Theo left Hoyer a old roster on expiring service time and weak farm system.
GM – Yeah I have never bet on any game, just WS matchups and occasionally MVP/ROY futures stuff. I don’t do anything with any other sport.
The Derby is my favorite, can’t wait!
You want to drastically beat the Philly contract? I would have looked elsewhere like Pirates O Hearn Lowe.
It is a exact science almost. You can’t be perfect but you can have the best odds. There’s no science that says to trade a playoff starter who also throws left handed for 3 dwarfs.
They have outfield redundancy.
The lineup lacks pop.
The bullpen is thin as hell.
We knew this before the season started. We know this now. The GMs have infinitely more data than the common fan especially when it comes to availability. But here we are. I actually like the way the team is constructed and I like a lot of the players. I don’t know if we can overcome the issues this year but as always I’ll be watching.
The talent in Greenville at High A is what I’m most excited about.
@Breslow. Time to upgrade your brain chip. I never said he said he was disappointed.
Sean – The only thing I disagree with is the BP, it’s ranked 13th so middle of the pack. Hard to call any BP with Whit & Chap thin.
Breslow & Cora should share the blame, but until there’s a change at the top with ownership/Driveline etc, nothing will change.
Weissert
Coulombe
Watson
DFA them all.
Fatse has to go.
Cora… man… so bad. I fully expected them to blow Tolles gem but I just can’t get over putting Weissert in tonight. THE GAME IS ON THE LINE AND YOURE GOING WITH WEISSERT?!?!? When it comes to high leverage situations… you go with your best arm regardless of the inning. It just blows my mind. Whitlock clearly. Chapman would have even been appropriate considering the situation. What a waste. Obviously feeling great about Tolle… but 😑 I’m over it
@AI Getting rid of Sale helped them duck under the salary cap, although it was an attempt at sarcasm congratulations is due.
Even with the benefit of hindsight people still cant get it right….
Our garbage duty guy is our 3rd best active reliever
Our garbage duty dude hit a game-tying solo home run in the top of the ninth inning of Game 7 of the 2025 World Series.
Then closed out a game earlier this season against the same team in garbage time.
Fine to trade him. Just do better than a quad a 2b
Ridiculous Monday morning QBing. But, what else you expect from a 2nd account. Can you tell us again how awesome FGP is?
Again AI is was about getting under the cap. You sem tobe stuck looking at the trade in a vacuum and dangling from. FPG…
Sean – I have no issue with Weissert being used in that spot. In his previous game, against the Tigers, he needed only 10 pitches to strike out the side. And in his previous 5 games he was darn near perfect. I have no issue with riding the hot hand.
Sean – Performance during garbage time can be misleading, I wouldn’t put too much stock in it. Hitters take a different approach in situations like that. They aren’t looking to walk or work the count, they are up there swinging to boost their BA.
What’s Monday morning qb?
Looks like I’ll be the one taking the victory lap on the firing of Cora. Sorry.
Sean – Yeah I never imagined it would happen midseason, especially so soon. So glad Fatso & Lawson are gone too.
Incorrect.
I’m lost? You’re saying you called it, right?
You wanna try again? So many fireable offenses throughout the years. But blowing that Tolle gem agains the Yankees at Fenway was the icing on the cake. 100% mismanagement by our manager. Glad the ownership was paying attention.
Don’t care when it happened but clearly management was watching that Yankees series. For one.
And I have no idea where these responses are going I’m positive they are not being sent/received appropriately. Probably getting mixed up and lost in translation. Today is a good day 👍🏻👍🏻
It’s tagging you for responses to others. Let’s wipe this thread and start fresh in the Cora firing article. Don’t wanna have a conversation be misinterpreted. It’s a day to celebrate my friend!
What am I incorrect about?
I’ve wanted Cora gone since 2019, but I didn’t think it would happen this soon. I’ve already acknowledged I was wrong about the timing, and I thought when it finally would happen he would get kicked upstairs.
Sean – Ohhhh ….. those were directed at someone I’ve muted. LOL!
Yeah this is why some of us always begin posts with the person’s handle ;O)
FGP good call
Sean – I’m just so damn happy! LOL
Tolle would be in the rotation over Harrison anyway.
You know that, right?
No I don’t know that.
What I do know is Harrison is better. Ready now. Already on mlb roster at least for Milwaukee. I have no idea what Breslow would do. He traded a cy young for a quad A 2b. But I would save the roster spot and service time and let Tolle get some more seasoning.
Harrison’s potential is not even in the same discussion as Tolle’s lol, like comparing ceilings of Martin Perez to CC Sabathia, IMHO… Also, Chris Sale had never won a CY prior to being traded to Atlanta.
Did that trade turn out disastrous? Of course, but almost every Red Sox fan agrees that he was likely never gonna have that CY comeback here in Boston.
Tolle and Early were both over Harrison on the depth chart last september. Tolle is a higher prospect. Tolle is pitching well this year.
Tolle would be over Harrison on the depth chart this year.
You’re welcome buddy, I know it can be hard.
Dont forget, even Sale publicly said he was seriously considering retirement after the year, prior to his trade.
You are absolutely correct Harrison doesn’t have near the potential that Tolle has.
The reality is Harrison is a back end starter with one outlier pitch which is his fastball. He also throws a slurve which is a decent pitch along with a sinker that is not a good pitch. There is always a chance he learns to throw a decent changeup which is what he needs to do to become anything more than a back end starter. His change as of right now is very rudimentary and he hasn’t been able to learn a pitch to go with that fastball and slurve yet, not really.
I don’t really like Harrison as anything more than a back end starter but was never high on Durbin. The Brewers sold high on Durbin and got a couple of back of the rotation arms or bullpen arms. Durbin just doesn’t impact the baseball and imo is unlikely to to ever do it. I remember having arguments with Yankee fans about Durbin and Meidroth and I wasn’t a huge fan of Meidroth either. I think they are similar players Durbin is faster but that’s about it they both play good defense at their positions, they both don’t strike out much and they both are willing to take a walk.
The argument here isn’t if Breslow should have traded Harrison he was probably 10 on the depth chart before the season but did he trade Harrison and Drohan for the right player. I believe the answer to that question is no but I don’t think much of Durbin, hope I’m wrong.
Everyone: Let’s also remember the Red Sox also got the 67th pick in the upcoming draft in the Harrison/Durbin trade. That is pretty valuable.
67th pick is likely to be about a 40+fv by fangraphs grading system, nice sure, but hardly a needle mover. For the Durbin trade to be good, Durbin has to be good.
I think he will be really good there, but until that happens, its fair to have some skepticism given Breslow’s track record so far.
The value in the 67th pick isnt only the player you get, but, the bump in total overage you can move around to go overslot on another pick.
Penalties are capped for exceeding percentage of your pool allotment. The bigger the pool allotment, the more total dollars overslot you can spend in the draft.
#67 overall adds a nice bit to the allotment vs not having it
Yeah, its about 1.4 million extra, which will equate to about 1 extra 40+fv prospect value this upcoming draft. Boston does seem to have something cooking with pitcher dev, so no doubt in 2 years that extea guy(s) could be great, but there are much cheaper ways to get a comp pick than giving up a controllable SP, so again Durbin has to good for that trade to be good.
I think they can get a really good player at pick no. 67. For example, the Red Sox got Roman Anthony at pick no. 79. They also got Anthony Eyanson at pick no. 87 last year.
Its not that you cant get a great player with that pick/money, heck it could be a hall of fame, but when you trade for that pick, you are trading for your average outcome with that pick/bonus pool.
If Boston/Breslow thinks their average outcome with a comp pick is much more valuable than that, they could’ve gotten it much cheaper.
The Brewers traded their star closer for Durbin a year prior, and he was coming off a near 3fWAR rookie year, to me he was very obviously a majority of the return.
If Durbin busts, and they hit the lottery with the pick, thats just pure dumb luck. Durbin will be awsome though.
I never mentioned potential so not sure what you are talking about if addressing me.
Im not, was talking to all in the suit you wear.
Forgot they traded for him.
It’s not Sonny in Boston.
Reds – When he got injured the skies when from Sonny to Gray.
Reminded me of the days when Chuck Rainey was relieved by Mark Clear ;O)
FPG
Not bad , not great , but not bad…..
Sandoval or Crawford? Not even a consideration? Kinda crazy the amount of time it’s taking to get back.
They’re both hurt again.
HBan – Maybe next offseason will be the first in which they DON’T acquire an injured player?
The Mets can trade them Senga and/or Peterson plus Vientos for W. Abreu and Cassas
Massive overpay. Just be like Milwaukee and give them some of your spare parts. Mets got any dwarf utility players in the attic? Or the Braves give them a quad A 2b for a cy young winner and make them pay his salary.
GM – The Durbin trade could be really, really bad. I tried to be optimistic and give Breslow the benefit of the doubt, but it sure seems like the warning flags and inflated numbers were legit last year.
Fever- all off-season trades have an “incomplete” grade to this point- it’s way too early to pass judgement on the trade for both teams. Durbin is showing some signs of life, so I’ll wait and see…
I’m much more concerned about the offense- half of the starters are batting below the Mendoza line (yes, Durbin is among them) as well as Crochet and Bello.
not the way I envisioned the season to start, to be sure.
I hated it from day 1. And it’s even worse so far. I thought Durbin was a mlb utility player. So far he’s quad A. And he gets to play half his games at Fenway.
It was a loss from day one. Even if Durbin was good you just can’t give away a pitcher as talented as Harrison. But if Durbin isn’t good this trade is a nightmare.
smk – With all due respect, I go out of my way to make clear I am talking about how these trades look as of now …. I am not making a final call on any of the trades. Nobody is more patient and takes a wait-and-see, time-will-tell approach than I. But it’s okay to give progress reports, it’s okay to say a player is looking good so far or looking bad so far.
Here’s some of my quotes, word for word.
“The Durbin trade COULD BE really, really bad.”
“Contreras trade COULD BE good, TOO EARLY TO KNOW though.”
“Meanwhile the May, Durbin, Sale, Priester, Oviedo trades all LOOKING quite bad SO FAR (to name a few).”
Do I really need to defend myself by quoting myself?
GM – I didn’t see much of him with Milwaukee, but his defense looked good and his overall numbers were decent for a rookie. I was rooting for him, most people root for scrappy guys that small in stature.
But when I dug deeper, saw the horrible road numbers, saw the infield popup numbers, saw the exit velo and hard hit rate, it made me feel less certain about him. Plenty of time to turn things around though. At least Hamilton isn’t doing well. LOL
smkelly1970: FPG is trying to tell you that you are crazy when you are not.
I think Durbin is coming around. Got his 5th Double of the season today and the glove has been solid. Cora’s resistance to change with the lineup is the bigger issue. Durbin should be hitting at the bottom of the order and Roman needs to be removed from the leadoff spot. Put Duran back to leadoff and drop Anthony to 5th or 6th til he gets his bat going
Good news on Durbin he can’t get any worse! Can he? I don’t think so. He should get better.
Unrelated but Pirate fan was using the red sox drafting Yorke round 1 as some sort of proof he is good. I was like well they also Gave away Mookie Harrison Sale so I dunno about that. But here is the 4 players drafted right after Yorke. I found that interesting. Like fans usually point out one guy they passed on like 5 or 10 or 20 picks later but this is 4 players right in a row.

GM – Unfortunately there’s always going to be misguided people who believe no matter what happens with Harrison the Raffy trade was a “win” because his contract is gone. Of course they are rushing to judgment because of Raffy’s slow start, but for them rushing to judgement is a good thing …. when it suits them.
rushing to judgment when it suits them. That’s a pretty accurate description of yourself there Fever.
I’m all in on Durbin, he won’t be lasershow 2.0, but maybe Spike Owen.
I’m so confused as to what this kids offensive profile is. I was tricked into thinking he has elite bat to ball skills. I can’t seem to will him into good ABs as hard as I try. Not going to give up but I didn’t think there would be a transition period to that skillset
Sean – Last year he was awful on the road, he had a very high Infield Fly percentage, and as expected a low Exit Velo and HHR. So the signs were there.
Any young players who rely on Sox coaches for hitting help are kinda doomed.
Sean – Durbin’s OBP/OPS was heavily inflated last year by leading the league in HBP with 24. He also had a very high Infield Fly percentage.
The Durbin hype was just the Red Sox blowing smoke to make us forget about Raffy & Bregman.
You and FPG are reaching a final conclusion about a trade only 22 games into the season. That makes no sense. I’m not surprised you think he is a Red Sox fan.
This was @AI GM.
At least we know how to reply to someone.
Complete lie 22 games into season. I made my final conclusion the minute I seen the trade reported. People want my analysis now not 5 years later. And if Harrison retires tomorrow my conclusion won’t change. You don’t give up that pitcher for that return. It was awful. And they gave another pitcher with him.
You gave Milwaukee Snow white and all you got in return was 3 dwarfs. Didn’t even get 7 just 3.
Oh, you’re a troll.
Snow White’s fastball avg’s a little under 9t and tops out at 97. His curveball is currently being hit for .067 opposed to his career .267. Aside from those his 3rd established pitches an unremarkable change up.
Harrison is the only player whose performed well in 2026. Passing judgement based on surface level stats after 14 innings is absurd.
Watched the game, hopefully it’s just tightness from the cold weather and nothing serious
He shouldn’t have run the marathon before the game.
hayzee – Don’t you think it’s weird a guy (Cora) who is heavily into the world of marathons doesn’t believe in pushing his players to build up endurance and stamina?
This isn’t true for all Major League Baseball players, but for the most part…… after those players become millionaires, their off season work to be in top notch shape at the beginning of the season????? That incentive isn’t there anymore.
