If the yankees fail to resign DJ , it will set them back a lot. They need more contact hitters like him, and got to try and get rid of Stanton or Judge. That’s what hurt them against the rays, they try to hit a home run every time.
Hey Mark Polishuk, There is no chance that the Cleveland Indians would want anything to do with Gary Sanchez. The Indians value defense at the catcher position. Sanchez would be absolutely the last catcher currently in MLB that the Indians would be interested in.
I agree with hockeyjohn . I was getting ready to post something along the same lines. Cleveland received nothing offensively from their catchers, but they did receive good defense and good pitch calling. After quite a few good pitching performances when the pitcher was interviewed he said something about just throwing what ‘Berto called.

I still believe this would be a good year for the Tigers to make a FA splash. Zimmerman contract is gone. Tigers have a ton of financial leeway. I’m a big Bauer fan. 6 yrs. $150-180 million.
Make’s him the ace. A role he will relish. It will take a lot of pressure off Mize, et. al. to become “the guy”. 2021 Bauer takes the ball every 5 days. Yeah, he’ll get bare bones support, but he’ll never back down. He could go 8-15 with a 3.50 ERA. He’ll show the youngsters how to compete every day.
By ’22 the young bats start to show up. Maybe Bauer becomes a 15-8 pitcher and the Tigers get above .500.
By ’23 the Tigers are playoff contenders with 90 win potential. Bauer is only in year 3 of his contract and he’s back to being CY material.
It could happen.
