Do the Brewers have enough for Story? It’s was a safe answer you gave Mark but no way possible do the Brewers have enough….Hader or Williams would have to be included which would negate the point of the trade

The Rockies aren’t getting Hader for two months of any non-Trout player.

Because he has no idea. None of the writers do. They have just as much “insight” as those of us reading the comments do.

I don’t mean this in a negative manner. I just don’t understand why there are complaints over not getting questions answered in a chat? Just post your questions in any comment thread and you’ll get answers from commenters, with some of them knowing just as much with the same ability to search Twitter for rumors or insider knowledge just like MLBTR staff does.

He’s a one year rental. If they offered Mitchel and Turang, two top 100 prospects, that should be enough. I think it’s the Brewers that would be making the mistake unless they feel this is the last year they are going to compete. Because of their consistently low payrolls they need to keep their young talent and let it mature.

The Brewers will find a run-producing bat later this year. A veteran player that’s having a good year whose team is out of contention so they want someone to take on the remainder of his salary for few months.

The price on Story will very probably be too high, as some teams think if they get him for a few months they’ll sell him on resigning there. Don’t think the Brewers are in the position of committing to a $200-300m contract at this point, so they’ll find more of a pure rental that other teams are not lining up to take on.

Deform is the best player in baseball. But not close to the most valuable. Players like trout Betts arenado tatis will always be valued more as they should.

deGrom is the best player in MLB because he’s doing that despite the Mets curse. Imagine how good he’d be on any other team. Mets send Matz across the border and he’s Glavine through 3 starts. He got called up to the Big Leagues. lol

What is the Mets curse? I haven’t heard of it before.

To have the best MLB player/pitcher — and one of the best offenses (according to Metsfan22) — but they both can’t show up in the same game.

Well, according to MetsFan22, these are basically the second coming of the ’27 Yankees, so I don’t see how they won’t win 120 games and sweep through the playoffs.

Aces often face the other team’s own best pitcher. Case in point, Yu Darvish is staring at a possible L after giving up one hit to the Dodgers, leaving down 1-0 because Kershaw was just as good tonight.

      differentbears:

I wouldn’t say it happens often, more like occasionally. It will happen more at the beginning of a season, but rotations get shifted after off-days, rainouts, IL stints, etc. And not every team has an ace. You’ll just as likely get a #1 versus a #5.

Today Gerrit Cole, ace, is facing Andrew Kittredge, not an ace. Would you consider Kyle Hendricks an ace? He’s the Cubs best pitcher, and today he faces Bryse Wilson. Is Charlie Morton an ace? He’s the Braves #1.

Also today, Trevor Bauer faces Blake Snell. But the Dodgers and Padres have multiple aces, where some teams have none. So that ace against ace will happen when those teams play each other, but not so much when they play the Giants, D’backs and Rockies.

Like Mets fans, they believed the off-season hype from the NE national sports media.

It’s all about clicks. Which is why the Yankees. Red Sox, and Cubs are overly publicized and on every other ESPN game – get those advertising dollars. Been going on for 30+ years now. But the train has left the station. Now NYC/Boston fans think the rehabbed, overpriced train that just pulled in is going to take them to the World Series…..Northside Chicago fans are more realistic.
