The 2024 MLB Winter Meetings are upon us! Team executives and agents are ready to make some deals in Nashville. The top storyline this year is two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, only the biggest free agent in MLB history. On top of that we’ve got a pair of 25-year-old stars on the market: ace righty Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been posted by Japan’s Orix Buffaloes, and Padres left fielder Juan Soto could be traded.
There are many other free agents and trade candidates, of course, and MLBTR will have round-the-clock coverage of the firehose of hot stove news coming out of Nashville. That includes our overnight news coverage, as you may have seen. We’ve been doing this for 18 years and we’re excited as ever for this offseason!
If you’re one of the millions of people hitting F5 constantly on this website this week, please consider purchasing an ad-free subscription for $29.89 per year. We call this service Trade Rumors Front Office, and we pack a ton of value into it. You get to enjoy the website and app with no ads, you gain access to our industry-approved MLB Contract Tracker, and we’re sending out exclusive articles and chats from Steve Adams and Anthony Franco every week. Your subscription also supports our independent company in a time of declining ad rates. Check out Trade Rumors Front Office today!

I can only speak for myself, but as much as I go to this site for baseball and football news/rumors, I think it’s important to support them. Keep up the good work fellas!

I feel bad that I haven’t done this sooner. I will be supporting this awesome site as of today.
wayneroo
Absolutely worth it. I’m on this site constantly and you all do a great job.
foppert1
Hi Tim
Foppert mysteriously lost the ability to post, so Foppert1 was born. Is Foppert still subscribed ?
Tim Dierkes
Yes – Foppert is still subscribed.

Sounds like a good idea

I would be happy to pay $30 to assist MLB Trade Rumors site but have been unable to comment in the discussions for over one year. Have sent several messages to Tim, Anthony, et al and…,.crickets.
gbs42
You might have inadvertently unsubscribed from comments. I did something similar once.
RandorBierd
You likely said something Anthony disagrees with. He bans any account he doesn’t like from commenting as a power play.
gbs42
Randor, do you have proof this actually happens?
RandorBierd
The proof would be the numerous accounts which are regular contributors who suddenly disappear one day. Some of them return with a new handle. Others are left in limbo like some of the comments seen in this section.
luclusciano
Right – pretty sure 90% would be banned and no conversations happening if this was true. 😀
ArGee
Is this happening on both the Desktop and Mobile versions of the site?
nosake
Excellent site, loaded with info. I will continue to support the effort.
DBH1969
It is the first site I log into when I surf the web, so I joined. If you are the same way, help out.
ArGee
This is indeed a tremendous value, so I’m signing up…but one plea to the site owners for those that can’t afford to do so.
I work in Digital advertising, I get all of it. In your search for higher CPMs for your ad slots, you’re opening yourself up to some very nefarious ad tech providers. A number of recent ads have begun automatically redirecting users’ browsers, making the site unusable (you have to close the window and try again).
Sharing this so you don’t find yourself potentially losing users, based on the site experience. If you’d like to discuss more, you’ve got the email associated with this account. 🙂
RandorBierd
They don’t care. Countless people have raised this same concern.
Tim Dierkes
We’ve heard about that. We’re working on it, but it’s not easy to pin down.
Earwig
I use MLBTR heavily during the off season and during the trade deadline. Finally this year, I signed up for Front Office. I’m looking forward to seeing the exclusive content that I never saw before. Thanks for all the great work over the years!
AHH-Rox
I’d be a lot more likely to subscribe if they fixed the freaking Mute button on the phone app. A few trolls and MAGA-cretins have me leaning more toward deleting the app than toward paying for it.
Tim Dierkes
I’ll see what I can do.
luclusciano
Agreed – I am on this site throughout the year – mainly because I am addicted to reading the commenters – especially when I need a giggle. Made sure my renew was set to on, thanks MLB TM for all you do!!
stanthefan
Just joined! Been using this site rent free for way too long.
This has been such an awesome site. Glad to finally wake up & support it!
SkipperLou
Sometimes I browse with ads and, after looking at an article for a few seconds I think some script within some of ads being loaded makes the page jump to a scammy/spammy site that isn’t mlbtr at all.
Am I the only one this happen to?
RandorBierd
The owners of the site do not respond to any questions or emails about the numerous issues with the site. There are severe privacy and safety issues with the pop-ups and ads. Anthony Franco bans anyone’s account that he disagrees with. Comments and replies do not collate properly. Yet we should totally pay for the site and continue being ignored.
Tim Dierkes
You’ve never emailed us from the email you signed up on this account with. But if you send another, I’ll look into your concerns.
Anthony Franco does not “ban anyone’s account that he disagrees with.”
RandorBierd
Emails have been sent related to other accounts, but have still not received a reply after months of waiting.
Why would these emails be ignored until the issue has been raised in a public forum?
Tim Dierkes
It’s a busy time of year, and sometimes I am bad at replying to emails.
To address the pop-up thing we are considering working with a company that says they are able to prevent those.
Whatever else it is you’re concerned with, please send a new message, and I will reply to it.

Seems like subscription authentication – or more accurately, log in authentication in general – is broken for the Mobile website?
I’m logged in on Mobile (at least the site tells me I am when I go to my profile page) – and not only am I continuing to see ads (including those awful ones from Temu), but I can’t even comment on the Mobile site now (switched to Desktop to post this).
Could be that the commenting feedback is related here…but I’ve gotta be honest, I use the Mobile site FAR more than this Desktop version, and I’m not a fan of the Mobile app. Would really like to see a fix come for the Mobile site ASAP.
ArGee
Update, while I tried clearing my cache earlier to no avail…I just cleared it again, killed my browser entirely, and launched the Mobile app before reopening the browser,
When I then opened the Mobile site, I still didn’t show as logged in…went to my profile, tapped “Login/Register”, got a screen that said “You are logged in as…”, and then refreshed that. At that point, the entire site refreshed for me, no ads, and my login is now recognized in my profile on the Mobile site. I’m also able to comment.
This was all on an iPhone running the latest iOS 17 build, in Safari…hope it’s helpful to someone out there.

Proud reafer since nearly day one and very happy to have supported for a couple years now. Tim and company hats off to you!
Tim, have yall ever thought of putting out a fantasy baseball magazine?
