Poll: Best Available Reliever

As usual, relievers will be in high demand as the trade deadline approaches.  Certain potential sellers, like the Orioles, Brewers, and Diamondbacks, aren't shopping quality relievers.  The Padres and White Sox are trying to make the playoffs, not break up their bullpens.  With no clear relief ace hitting the market, we're left with this poll question:

Who is the best available reliever?

Poll: Best Second Tier Starting Pitcher

While Cliff Lee and Roy Oswalt will dominate the starting pitcher trade rumor circuit for the next month or so, most teams can't afford (both in terms of prospects and/or money) to add someone of that caliber to their staff. Instead, they'll look to smaller upgrades, similar to what the Tigers did with Jarrod Washburn last season.

Poll: Which Contender Needs To Make A Trade?

The Red Sox have a patchwork outfield; the Twins could use a third baseman or a starter; the Angels could use a corner infielder. Those are just a few of the American League teams with areas of concern as the trade deadline approaches. And in the National League, the Dodgers could use a starter and the Rockies are down an infielder. Virtually every contender could improve by adding the right piece, but not all of them need to make a deal.

Poll: Should The Brewers Deal Fielder And Hart?

Corey Hart leads the National League in home runs and Prince Fielder already has a home run title. Both realize they could be dealt given the Brewers' 31-40 start, but that doesn't mean GM Doug Melvin will decide to trade them away. Each slugger is arbitration-eligible one last time in 2011, so the Brewers could hold onto them for next year. But given the team's need for pitching, Melvin could listen to offers. Hart's value might never be higher, but Prince isn't hitting for quite as much power as usual, so the Brewers have some decisions to make.

Poll: Do The Rangers Need To Make A Trade?

A federal judge's ruling could limit the Rangers' ability to make major moves this summer, but the team is playing so well that a big acquisition hardly seems necessary. Rangers GM Jon Daniels will explore the starting pitching market regardless of how quickly his team's sale goes through. Rich Harden and Derek Holland are recovering from injuries, so the Rangers will consider adding pitching reinforcements, though their chances of getting a star like Roy Oswalt seem to be shrinking.

The Rangers have won nine consecutive games and are tied with the Rays for the second-best record in the game. Are the Rangers a good team? Yes. The answer to today's poll question isn't as obvious.

Poll: Will David DeJesus Be Traded?

The Giants appear to have interest in David DeJesus and there's a good chance that other clubs will consider the outfielder between now and the end of July. Depending on injuries and team performance, the Red Sox, A's, Braves and Padres could also be looking for outfielders in the near future. The Royals appear to be asking a lot for DeJesus, and why not? He's affordable ($4.7MM salary), plays good defense and is hitting .323/.395/.485. The Royals could hold onto DeJesus and exercise his $6MM option for 2011, but there's a definite chance they make a trade.

What uniform will David DeJesus be wearing on August 1st?

Poll: Are The White Sox Contenders?

Two weeks ago, the White Sox appeared to be open for business. But something unexpected has happened in Chicago. In spite of the apparent tension between manager Ozzie Guillen and GM Kenny Williams, the team has gone on an extended hot streak and won ten of its last 12 games, including its last six. Sure, that six-game streak came at the expense of the Pirates and Nationals, but wins are wins. The 34-34 White Sox are 5.5 games behind the Twins in the AL Central and Guillen and Williams are presumably asking the same question everyone else is:

Are the White Sox for real?

Poll: Which Team Will Become A Surprise Buyer

Some clubs, like the Yankees, Rangers and Phillies, have positioned themselves as buyers for the trade deadline. They may not add stars, but they can consider big moves since they're going for it in 2010. Some other clubs could conceivably become buyers if things go well between now and the end of July. Will it be the Nationals? the Cubs? the Blue Jays? It's time for your predictions.

Poll: Mike Lowell’s Next Team

Ever since the Rangers nearly acquired him over the winer, Mike Lowell has been in trade rumors non-stop. The Rangers, Angels and Twins have seemed like fits at times, but Lowell remains in a Red Sox uniform even though it's been apparent for a while that he doesn't have a role in Boston. He has batted just 25 times in the last month and barely starts anymore. Some teams could use corner infield help – does that mean Lowell will be traded?

Where will the Red Sox trade Mike Lowell?
