Free Special Report: The Truth About Projections, ADPs And Winning

By Tim Dierkes | February 11, 2019 at 9:18am CDT

POP QUIZ: Name the player who belongs to this 2019 projection:

AB      R      HR      RBI      SB      Avg
550     85      25          75         5        .260

Is it Rafael Devers? Could it be Matt Chapman, or maybe Stephen Piscotty? How about Asdrubal Cabrera or Jed Lowrie? Actually, there are 49 players who could reasonably post this stat line. However, they are currently being drafted anywhere from Round 3 to Round 32!

Mining the gaps between the projections and draft behavior is the secret to a fantasy baseball title. Here’s how to uncover dozens of profit opportunities for Draft Day 2019!

A few months back, I recall a poll Tim posted about paid subscriptions & and which created poster chaos. So instead of a paid subscription to disable ads I guess we will see future ads being posted as rumors…its all about the money & makes me chuckle.

It is very specifically labeled as an ad. Get over it; if you want free stuff on the internet somebody has to pay for it. These same people who whine and complain every time a player asks for a few extra dollars in free agency think that everything in the world should just be free.

        @David

Guess all the posters who feel entitled are down voting you. I am completely okay with whatever way MLBTR decides to fund the site and even make a profit. I don’t work for free either.

We’ve been running sponsored posts like these since 2011, starting with DraftStreet.

To be fair, I think you also have to make that disclaimer every time you post one lol. They’re definitely not my favorite either… but I’m sure I speak for just about everyone here when I say I’d rather have them pop up occasionally than have a paywall.

Do you think you will still explore additional features for upgraded users (subscribers, those who donate, etc.)?

That seems unlikely. Survey feedback indicated that for some people, the mere existence of extra features that people can pay for would cause them to leave MLBTR entirely. Enough people said this to make me think it’s possible.

We could still do something that strictly pays to remove ads. I don’t see how someone would ditch MLBTR because of that.

Dierkes, I am very sorry to read that people would leave because of that. I hope you are able to build a better income from this love child of yours.

This was interesting if you have never played Fantasy Baseball before……LOL

Those that have already have….. have a system they use to find the bargains who produce…..and it’s different for each League.

i decided to give it a read. read most of it, but when i saw Matt Carpenters ADP in the 180s , i laughed my ass off and closed the link. nowhere on this planet can you get Carp anywhere near that low.

Beats me…Carpenter seems to be going in the 60-75 range for sure.

I read it too. It was referring to Carpenter’s ADP LAST YEAR. They’re saying that the system predicted that he’d be as valuable as Hoskins. Pretty impressive, actually.
