      Good point!

This question has been covered many times in the last several chats. I’d check back on those for your answer.

My best guess is that there isn’t enough interesting/significant going on with the Rangers and they try to choose questions that would interest a larger portion of their audience, but that’s just my theory. They get 1000’s of questions and only have time to answer a small percentage of them. Once there is a legitimate reason to talk about the Rangers, I’m sure they will start posting some of your questions

    Mark;

You run the best chats here, and your columns are the best as well. I especially like when you note something about that day in baseball history, and how what happened lead to more baseball history. All generations think history started the day they started following something. The last few generations are especially guilty of that. Which is why narcissism is so prevalent and celebrated.

    Appreciate your efforts.

Totally agree….Mark does the best chats on this site (or any other I’ve seen). You can tell he really enjoys the game and engaging with us, and that’s awesome.
      Thanks Mark!

? Can I team that drafted a player in the rule 5 draft make a trade for him? Then be able to keep him on the 40 man roster but have the option to send him to the minor leagues? Anybody know? Thanks in advance.

Rule 5 picks can be traded.
Same rules still apply to them: they have to spend at least half the season on the major league roster, the
rest of the time can be spent on the injured list.
I’m not sure if they can be optioned to the minors…..

Bro I can’t wait for complete domination this year. I’m expecting to win the division by 3-5+ games.

35+ games is certainly going big.

While I understand the frustration of nonstop Adell trade proposals, I don’t think fans are overreacting. This guy looks lost in the outfield and has very poor at bats. He’s the next Brandon wood, jurickson profar, or Justin smoak. His value is still high, sell before he tanks it even further. Plus, even if he ends up being a regular, I would rather have pitching. The lineup is fine.

Who do you package Adell with to get a top of the rotation starter? Adell alone isn’t bringing back the type of starter the Angels need. If you package Adell with Marsh, Adams, Yan and Jackson. Then who plays RF for the Angels next season? Then LF the season after that. Creating 4 holes to try to fill one, is the Jerry Dipsnot way of being a GM. Which is the Angels Farm System was historically bad when Jerry Dipsnot left the Angels. The Angels even if they trade all those players for Marquez, does even that guarantee the Angels a Playoff spot? No absolutely not. But would that jeopardize the team for the next 4 years? Yes it would

I agree with what you are saying 100%. I’m just trying to recoup any value out of him before he’s lost it all (which happened with Brandon wood, Dallas McPherson, and Jeff mathis). The raw potential is there and I hope he figures it out, but i just don’t see him becoming the next coming of Jesus.

You spent a paragraph explaining how you believe the player stinks in almost every way, then said his value is still high.
I dont see it. Until he rebounds and shows something.

Yes, as evidenced by everyone saying to stop with the trade proposals, his apparent value is still high. It’s kind of the point to my whole post. Trade him before he has no value.

          LocoTaco –
The kid is like 21 years old and was rushed to the majors. If he went to college he wouldn’t even have played his first game in pro ball yet. Let’s pump the brakes on calling him a bust already. Eloy Jimenez and Juan Soto can’t play defense to save their lives either, but are still highly valued within the game. Give Adell a break for god’s sake…he never should have been in the big leagues last year in the first place! His trade value will be just fine if he destroys AAA pitching this year as most expect he will

I hope you are right and that I am wrong. I would love nothing more than for him to be a star. This script just seems a little too familiar for me to feel completely comfortable.

One thing to docu- If he gets the ‘cant play the field well’ rub you might as well just hold bc the trade value will never get optimal
