Both will make it as reserves but both should probably be starters. Harper won’t be able to play so i wonder if Mookie shifts to DH which should put Soto in the starting lineup.

Congrats to Raffy Devers becoming the first Red Sox 3B to start back-to-back All Star games since Wade Boggs made 7 straight starts with the Sox from 1986-1992

Agreed…fan vote though and Ohtani and Vlad Jr are more well known than Yordan and France. Realistically speaking though, I don’t have too much of an issue with how the vote worked out for both leagues. Stanton might be the one questionable starter but I don’t think there was a third AL outfielder who definitely deserved the starter nod. Yordan is really the only guy who probably got “robbed” but Ohtani is still a fine choice.

The total population of Canada is bigger than every US city metro though, and pretty much everyone from BC to PEI roots for them in Canada. Not too many fans there of American teams. So they have the upperhand vs. individual fanbases.

I thought Mike Lowell had a good ASG run with the RS. Perhaps he was a reserve in some of those years.

Lowell made one All Star appearance while with the Sox in 2007 as a reserve. Shea Hillenbrand started the 2002 ASG with the Sox. Scott Cooper made in 1993-94 as a reserve (and subsequently disappeared shortly after).

This is just a popular vote, to many .260 hitters with good past, how many guy’s that have hit 26 + hrs and not be a starter half way threw the season and didn’t make all star team, Ohtani should have been judged only on hitting nothing else. Nothing but a popularity contest. Don’t care for the voting twice, will they do it three times next year?
