RIley green has a 135 OPS+
Kerry has a 159 OPS+
Parker has a 106 OPS+

Whos a hater? you called soto “overrated” below.

As a lifelong Tiger fan I’m as surprised as anybody. Hinch has been brilliant managing the pitching staff. After Skubal, he has no certified, reliable starter. He has basically told Casey Mize that he is not a starter right now. Olson is, but is easing back in off the DL. If Montero can get through 5 tonight without blowing up….whew.
They are playing very good defense. Meadows in CF is outstanding. Sweeney has been a huge surprise at SS.
With no clutter in the lineup like Baez, Urshela and Cana the youngsters have stepped up. They have some speed on the basepaths. They have some excellent Swiss Army Knife bench guys. And Hinch is not afraid to pinch hit anybody at any time.
I think they make the 1st round. The Orioles have pretty much stopped hitting and have lost a lot of on field mojo. If the Tigers can surpass KC for the 2nd WC slot, I like their chances vs. the O’s.
Houston, at home, will be tough for any of the WC teams. If the Tigers get the Orioles, then they might get to the Yankees….and the Tigers love to beat the Yankees.

I’m praying Madris gets put on the team for Thursdays game as the starter, I hoping he’s in Detroit so they can announce it after the game.

Why the love for Bligh Madris? Nice guy and filled in nicely when Tork was in Toledo, but there’s no way he plays much with Tork being a threat at the plate, I’m not totally sold on Spenny, but he has been part of this late season run and fiddling with this roster now might be suicide.
No, Bligh will be insurance in case of injury. We are probably done seeing him this year….and possibly as a Tiger. He’s on the 40 man, and it might be a bit premature, but Madris, Kreidler, Leonard, Vilade, Baddoo, Vanasco and Englert are all on the bubble. I don’t know who in the Tiger’s minor league system might need to be protected from the Rule 5 draft.
JoeBrady
It would be nice for the fans if the Tigers started Jobe one game, even if only once through the order. That’s secondary to making the playoffs of course. but still.
DM_Nats
I don’t think the Nats will go hard after Pete Alonso but I do think they target Christian Walker very hard. Santander is also another target, absolutely able to afford both given how low their expected team salary is projected to be
Brew’88
I highly doubt the Padres do a long-term with Adames with SS De Vries as arguably their most studliest prospect. But it will be very interesting to see what they do to replace Kim (assuming Kim opts out).
HiredGun23
Kim won’t be back…sadly.
Brew’88
yeah, that’s my assumption too.
Interesting news today from Pads though, he’ll be rejoining the team this friday in AZ. Would be shocked if he was re-activated?
mrmackey
Jazz can also potentially go back to the OF if the Yankees don’t re-sign Soto. Martian/Jazz/Judge would work.
Sign someone like Walker or Alonso and then get scrappy at 2b/3b with guys like Berti, Cabrera, Peraza, Vivas, and Durbin. Kim would also be interesting,
FemboySportsFan!
why would soto go back to the nats lmao? no chance.
HiredGun23
I agree. He stays in New York with my pic as the darkhorse candidate to sign him, the Texas Rangers.
FemboySportsFan!
elaborate on how he’s “overrated” please, enlighten everyone..
HiredGun23
He isn’t overrated. He isn’t gonna win any gold gloves but he makes any lineup better…
NYCityRiddler
Soto becomes despondent when he just has to travel to our nations capital for road games… and who can blame him. Ahahaha!

I;d sure like to see Blake Madris come up for the last 4 games of the regular season. Tork is looking he was before being sent down. He’s really off at the plate, and we don’t have Canhs or Urshella to give him a break. Everybody in Detroit is rooting for Tork, but we need a hitting first basemen.
Send out Jhsm and bring Madris up for the last 4 games. First base may be another platoon position. Have Tork as another right handed power hitter on the bench for the last 4 games, then decide if the team makes the playoff on the 26 man roster. Tork needs some relief right now, and Msfris hit .300 for them this summer.
MPrck
WOW ! Tork needed that contact, and home run. That puts Detroit up 5 to 1, outstanding at bat by Tork. He understood the situation he was putting management in,and he responded. GO TIGEFRS !!!
MPrck
Tork’s down the line r.b.i.double after his home run, means one thing. PANIC IN DETROIT….IS OVER ! GO TIGERS ! Dingler, just like Price’s Tingler film, makes it 7=1
MPrck
Jobe to close WEDNESDAYS GAME IN DETROIT. WOW !! Family here what a game. TIGERS WIN……SO MANY STORIES TONIGHT !!!!
