As you may know, I started a paid subscription service five years ago called Trade Rumors Front Office. For $34.99 per year, subscribers enjoy ad-free browsing of MLBTR, access exclusive articles and chats from our writers every week, and dive into GM-caliber tools such as our MLB Contract Tracker. Recently I asked our subscribers if they would like to provide quotes about this service for marketing purposes. This was entirely voluntary; these are all real subscribers and none of them were paid for their quotes. I’ve chosen a few of my favorites below. Learn more about Trade Rumors Front Office here!

I was a free user of MLBTR for years. It was my go to app for all the latest news. When the pitch came around to consider subscribing, I figured I had gotten enough value over the years that I owed it to the team to support them. Wow! I had no idea what I was missing! Getting rid of the ads was worth it alone, but all the chats are awesome. The writers really take their time to thoughtfully answer all sorts of fake trade proposals and armchair GM scenarios. What I figured would be a one-time thing, is likely going to be an ongoing subscription. 100% worth the money! – Matt
I really appreciate the Front office exclusive chats and the emailed articles with each writer’s perspectives on a variety of topics. I also subscribe simply because I think the work MLBTR does is valuable and very much worth supporting. – Greg
MLB Trade Rumors’ Front Office subscription is worth every penny—and a whole lot more. It’s the only website I’m sure to read every day, and being a subscriber enhances the experience with features like ad-free browsing, Front Office chats and special articles. I don’t see how a diehard baseball fan can get along without the excellent work from the MLBTR team! – Tom
Trade Rumors Front Office has been a subscription worth every penny. From weekly chats to great detailed articles, every baseball fan would benefit greatly, and more importantly have a lot of fun, from enjoying their content. – Joseph
I think the member chats are always well done. I especially enjoy the member’s mailbag that Tim does every week. He really takes the time to give well thought out thorough answers. I’ve learned a lot from them. – Marc
None of the other sites I subscribe to are anywhere close to MLBTR. I’m seriously thinking of cancelling all of them. – Alf
MLBTR is my first read in the morning for news. My go to for breaking news. The front office subscription has been well worth the price and they’re always producing high quality content. They keep me up to date on basketball and football too. Highly recommend to any diehards of the Big 3 sports leagues! – Greg
MLBTR Front Office Subscription offers the greatest value differential from its free offering (essential for a baseball fan) than any equivalent that I am aware of. – Reynold
Has to be one of the best decisions I made signing up for this. Just a lack of advertisement that flashes on the side of the screens makes things so much easier to read. I also read the chats but after they’re completed. Just too busy during the day to be involved and I love all the extra stuff that I get. anyone not on the subscription based, you’re wasting your time it’s so inexpensive , Join today you’ll see the benefits right away. – Andy
I check MLBTR several times a day, and my Trade Rumors Front Office subscription would be a bargain at the twice at the price. MLBTR simply has the sharpest minds in baseball analysis, with a treasure trove of information at their disposal (and at ours). It is required reading for the serious baseball fan. – John
MLB Trade Rumors has been my baseball go-to for over a decade, and I subscribed this year both to support their work and to access additional quality content. Their writers have the passion of fans and the knowledge of industry pros. It’s a pleasure to read good, AI-free, well-researched writing, without corporate spin, and I plan to renew for many years to come. – Lloyd
The absolute ’go-to’ source. Buries competitors. And, questions are answered! If you have made the decision to invest in this type of information, there is no better, cost effective way to do so. – Paul

Absolutely worth every penny!!! Costs less than $3 a month!!! NOBODY DOES IT BETTER
Nobody does it half as good as MLBTR, they’re better than the rest.
It’s literally an investment in every way.
Worth it. Plus Football, hoops, and hockey!
Hey Tim, I’d consider subscribing, but I only use the app, is there anything app related coming down the pipe that would make a sub worthwhile? Anyway I really enjoy your content thank you!
I mean for $3 per month how much specific content do you really need?
We are putting the finishing touches on a reboot of the iPhone app. In fact, anyone reading this can download the Testflight app and then get the beta version of Trade Rumors here:

One of the things we’ve been working on is a better Front Office experience within the app.
The Android update is not far behind.
It already is. My post a little further down was poorly worded, but I use the app on iOS. It’s not perfect, but it was borderline unbearable for me ad-wise before I subscribed 🙂
I use the site exclusively on browsers and don’t have any of the complaints people have about the app. Not lecturing, just observing…
Been here since the white-on-black days, almost 20 years I guess. My first site every morning, and then repeatedly throughout the day.
i love it still!
i look forward to the mailbags every week.
MLBTR is my go-to site, several times a day. Thanks for all you do for us fans!
I’ll be honest. I hated the ads. I almost exclusively use my phone to navigate, and they were a pain in the patoot. The rest of the paid features are great, but I’d have subscribed just for getting rid of ads.
Dierkes – I love how you are making it more and more miserable not to subscribe. First, the ad across the bottom now takes up a third of the substantive screen (on a laptop). It extends invisibly above the visible ad about 2 inches so if I try to click on something that is lower on the site, it will take me to the ad website instead. Second, for a new addition, the ad along the right side now stays stationary as I scroll so 50% of what I am scrolling through on the right side is covered by the stationary ad. Way to alienate non-subscribers. I’m sure you couldn’t care less if I stay or go and you are likely pleased that your strategy makes non-subscriber experience that much worse. There are other sources for the same publicly available baseball news that you report on.
My suggestion – Get it over with and make MLBTR a subscription only site.
lol dude it’s such a small amount of money for a great site. I give monthly to this site and Wikipedia because I’m on them the most. It makes sense.
You missed my point entirely. It has nothing to do with money.
It has to do with advertisements and how you love how they’re making you more and more miserable. You feel alienated because of the advertisements and you want the site to force everyone to pay or be completely free so that advertisements are not part of the equation. You’re also mad because you’re sure the admins take pleasure in reading about your complaints. You also point out that this information can be found on many other sites, rendering the information on this site that much less important. I’m just confused why you care enough to rant if you think so low of this site in the first place. Are you just trolling or do you actually really like this site and are just frustrated that you have to pay money to not look at the ads?
“There are other sources for the same publicly available baseball news that you report on.”
Obviously not as good or you would have went to them years ago.
Subscription cheaper than psychologist. You are coming here getting so annoyed about ads that you have to click on a article which is just a ad to complain about the ads! You need help!
If you need $ I’ll tell you how you can make $50 in 10 minutes or less. Half hour if you are homeless and don’t have a single thing of value.
Prov… You spent an entire paragraph complaining about a service you don’t pay for. Your complaints are ridiculous. Pay or leave.
I’d use user names instead of first names. Who the heck is Greg Tom Greg? I don’t care how you run your business. Just from a marketing view people if they are going to care what someone thinks are more likely to care from someone they know vs Greg #2.
