Tim, curious to your thoughts on this, and for the health of the game.

A lot of rule changes are being proposed, and I know baseball purists hate change but …

I think one that needs addressed is the international walk. In a day and age where the game is described as boring by some, the worst thing that can happen in my mind is to take the bat out of a superstars hand. Why would any fan want to see Harper, Trout, Machado, Stanton,Acuna etc … be intentionally walked? Does anyone want to see Scherzer intentially walk mike trout in the 7th with runners on 1st and 2nd in a 3-2 game? I absolutely hated all the walks given to Barry bonds. Now when you throw in their contract sizes and MLB TV contracts, fans want to see those batters … bat. Has there been any talk of eliminating the intentional walk? Not just speed it up?

What do you want them to do exactly? Force the pitchers to throw strikes by taking away all walks? If you take intentional walks away, they will just pitch way high or way outside thus leaving the hitters no choice but to go to first anyways. You are just delaying the inevitable.

      So only Americans can walk?

From what I saw, the angels payroll in 2021 will be around 55 million. So Arte Moreno better be spending money to put talent around Trout.

“… but the guy is cheap this year and a 20/20 to 30/30 guy every year.”

Myers has never had a 30/30 season and has only been 20/20 twice in six years. Where do you get “20/20 to 30/30 guy every year” from?

They need to do away with inter-league play. It unfairly impacts the wildcard races. I’m not a fan of the DH in the NL, but if they instituted the DH, expanded by two teams, and ended inter-league play, I’d vote in favor (if I had a vote).
