Wil myers would probably hit 30 or so homerun a year at Fenway Park with that lineup playing first base. His batting average would probably stabilize at 261

He has hit over .259 once … it was his rookie year in 88 games… hes entering his 8th season
… and hes only hit 30 Homer’s once… and he strikes out a ton.. there is no reason to think he should hit. 260 with 30+ homers in Boston

How many first basemen do they need? I would have had less of a problem with it if they didn’t re sign Moreland.

Myers has tools but comes off as a skateboarding pothead-gamer.

Maybe a sports hypnotist might fix that… Nah.

He sees a sports psychologist actually. This was brought up after last off-season

His hobbies of gaming, weed and skateboarding must not be hampering him too much then, as he’s a successful professional baseball player.

Wil (only 1 l) Meyers. Why?

They should have signed Marcus Lynn to a long term contract! But, too late now. Price? Fine, he’s good, real good but a head case. Why/how they let BrockHolt leave is inexcusable. Why re-sign Moreland?

They tried to re-sign Mookie, but he is dead set on testing free agency. The Dodgers will learn that in time.

@Jeff Todd – You stated in this video that Jared Hughes is going to the Red Sox, but I believe he signed with the Astros, correct? It would be great if it was indeed Boston.

Sports psych can’t fix dumb. This is the Dummy that told a San Diego sports station that the best Mexican food ever had was in North Carolina.

So you’re saying North Carolina doesn’t have a Mexican restaurant that makes excellent food? Not sure what you are implying here but the point I got was a Psych can’t fix you for this dumb comment of yours.

The best Mexican joint I ever visited was in Houston. #2 was in Yonkers. FWIW, the stuff Americans think of as Mexican is not quite the same as what Mexicans eat.

And your fun fact, last I checked, was that the largest manufacturer of Mexican food was in Minneapolis, and the guy in charge of creating this Mexican food was Indian.

Unless you grew up near the border aka SD, your view of Mexican food is not credible, at all, period.. show yourselves to the door.

Everyone is down on Myers.. rightfully so, but as Jeff Todd pointed out he is still only 29, so it could be an added bonus if Myers produces anything for the Red Sox since he is a salary dump. His OPS+ the last 3 years has been 95, 110, 109. Red Sox could do a lot worse than finding someone who might hit for slightly above league average while being compensated with prospects to take him. .

Some of the more casual fans hear the name ‘Myers’, and immediately think of a bad contract. Which, at $22M, is a bad contract. But once SD takes half, and the AAV advantage is ours, it is at least a market value, if not better.

And the same RS fans that love Moreland, hate Myers, even though Myers has better numbers. Everyone needs to start thinking in context.

Some on here aren’t willing to give some players a break.
Myers, when he was a young kid with the Devil Rays, had a fair amount of success against the Sox. Two players mentioned on these Rumor Pages, Myers and JBJ are still in their 20’s–Many major leaguers are late Bloomers–an example Big Papi.
If Verdugo is a good player, great, if his back is going to keep him out of 50 games, I ask should we keep him or I him to get him as healthy as possible.

Fenway Park has smaller outfield dimensions than the park Myers played in in San Diego. The may impact his numbers as a member of the Red Sox. We will have to wait and see.
