According to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick, the Rangers sold the rights to 27 year-old pitcher Kameron Loe to the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks for an undisclosed amount. Loe then signed with the Hawks for $2MM over two years. Loe dealt with elbow and back issues during his 343.2 innings with the Rangers, posting a 4.77 ERA.

Slave? He didn't have to agreed to a two year deal. Maybe selling rights of our players will even out some of theirs from leaving.

Loe and Rasner wanted, probably requested to be sold to Japan so they could sign for more money.

This also clears an additional spot on the 40 man roster for the Rangers. Now they should be able to put Strop on there.

How does this work? Can a player be sold to a team in Japan without his consent? Can he reject the move and stay with his current team?

(They'll dump Littleton next - or maybe FCat - in order to hang on to Poveda)

I'm wondering if Loe and Rasner could be the beginning of a big movement of average to slightly below average pitchers in the U.S. moving to Japan for more money.
