Yay for Penn and Mark DeRosa! I don't get why the Phillies would want him instead of Beltre (or Figgins, but probably the former in my mind) though, and I don't see DeRosa being that thrilled with a part-time role...

Randy Miller has as many sources as I do. If he says we're trying to get Derosa, I'm buying my Beltre jersey tomorrow.

Yeah randy miller said the phillies wouldn't trade for a big starter in the middle of this season because they couldn't take on the extra couple million dollars. So I take his opinion with less than a grain of salt.

derosa is almost as old as pedro. ok he is more versatile and prob will do better offensively, but beltre is where its at. if the phils arent going to go out and land a mid-to-upper range pitcher, through trade or FA, then i think they need to make this move for beltre. 3 years option for 4th--about 30 mil. get it done ruben
