Nothing but another Jacoby Ellsbury!
in a sea of bad takes that might be the worst.
Jacoby Ellsbury was at least something, a major league baseball player. You’re nothing.
Named after fat George, You’re nothing but a Spankee wannabe!
So a 31War player with a 284/342/417 slash line and a 103OPS+ and 343SB with a 83% success rate and 6 dWar with 2 WS rings and a 280/346/385 slash in the playoffs. I’ll take that any day of the week.
One of the worst contracts in MLB history, without a doubt. One good year, then he became Singlesbury!

One sentence. “Controversial” statement. No explanation.
Yawn
Was Woodruff only going to resign with the Brewers after he got hurt? Seems like the Yankees used to love those TJ two year deals. Jon Lieber comes to mind.
I hope Dylan Cease signs a 15 year contract so we all can get a bit of a break from his perpetual market talk
I have to laugh, especially at Dar, when it comes to your takes on the Tigers. Felt like you used the listener questions to rehash the trade deadline. Tigers are trying to build something long term and are at the beginning of this, not the middle or end. Pushing all the chips in this year at the expense of the future makes little sense to them. So they got what they could get for what they were willing to give up. Dar then goes into all the reasons why the current team might not do well in the playoffs. Well, if you don’t think McKinstry or Baez will be able to maintain what they’ve done so far why would you go all in and sacrifice the future? Tigers have more holes that can be patched at the deadline. So better to do what you can and hope for the best. Playoffs are a crapshoot as well, so get in, and they will as you say, and get hot. Plus, a lot of the asks by teams at the deadline was pitching, and the Tigers farm system isn’t that deep in pitching, at least the type you can trade. Plus some have been dealing with injuries further limiting the pool for the Tigers to deal from. The only pitcher on the Tigers top 10 is Troy Melton, who is now on the big club. So a lot of things did not align for the Tigers to make any big deals.
As far as Skubal, you are right that the Tigers could get a ton for him in a trade but won’t trade him. But not because of any window. Trying to be a consistent winner means rejecting the notion of a window, in general or with any one player. Tigers expect to contend next year so they will need Skubal. The only way they trade him is if things go sideways next season, then they might move him at the deadline.
It would be more convenient if when talking about a player for an extended period of time, you refer to that players name more often. Some of us are that forgetful, skip around or just have that kind of attention span.
There is an innate problem with trading Skubal to the Dodgers, if “we”, the Tigers want to lure him back afterwards…..he may not want.to come……
Cincinnati….much better. Too bad about the A’s moving out of the Colusium…that would have been perfect…..
