As expected. He was never leaving Philly.
Agreed….
Congrats Shwarbs!!!
No shock – good for Phils to keep him around. Pirates must’ve scared them – lol.
Pittsburgh be like “we tried. “
4 for 120 was a pretty good offer. The issue is the Phillies were never letting him go.
More fax than a fax machine
Great move Phillies!
Oh well, it was fun to dream. Unfortunately this is reality. Happy for the Phillies though bringing back one of the nicest guys in the game.
Bob Nutting: “At least the Pirates tried!!!”
That was a must for them and a steal honestly
Nice. He’ll reach 500 career bombs with the Phillies
Welp at least Pittsburgh tried😂😂😂
poor pirates 😢
I never thought the other rumors were remotely true. Basically thought Phillies or Reds and Phillies weren’t going to be outbid by Reds.
They had this news on Mlb network hot stove First
Terrible. Sure, I got that right on the contest but I was totally hoping he would sign with the Pirates…
Sad day for Pirate fans… 🙁
Yay! I was hoping Kyle Schwarber will still be a Philly! Plus I do kind of want Philly to win WSl
5 years at his age? Ouch.
Wait, I thought he was a lot older than 32. He looks it. Lol
LoL. predictable.
People dumping on the Pirates but here we are just excited we had a fairly competitive offer for a major free agent. Knowing he’d likely stay in Philly just to be included on a 30m per year offer for this team is a huge shift.
As a Mets fan, thank goodness it wasn’t NY signing him! Five years? No thanks.
Now the true test will be if this money is redirected by Nutting to a different free agent. You can get both Suarez and Polanco for what was offered.
People making fun of the pirates as if they didn’t make the exact AAV offer that Philly did. They just added that 5th year which will likely make the back end a real albatross. Very few if any guys are worth $30 million in their age 37 season. The Phillies can eat that, no small market team possibly can.
