I can’t believe Steve Cohen with all his Billions won’t just hire Alex Cora to right the Mets ship. Just pay the man whatever!
A Gift was just dropped in his lap. Carpe Diem!
Great call! 👍👍
Rob – He probably will offer the job to Alex, if he hasn’t already …. but Cora has reasons to hold off.
Fever Pitch ( Great Film A Fav ),
You do realize that he has no choice Citi Field is already Citi Morgue. Mendodo & Stearns are an insult to Mets fans. Nobody will pay to watch this garbage product.
As soon as the firings happened on Saturday I knew Darragh was going to have a great time on the podcast this week
Darraugh was on a roll today!!
Mike – His pods are great! He and Steve really nailed it on the overall Red Sox situation. And I think everyone agrees the franchise has become so comical, laughing at the mass firings is well justified. It’s just so ridiculous, and the shuttle bus name was the cherry on top. As Henry approaches his 80’s, the manner in which he runs the team will likely get even more comical. This has been going on for nearly 7 years now.
The one thing that should be clarified, Cotillo & McAdam both confirmed Tek wasn’t offered another position within the organization and doesn’t plan to remain with the Red Sox. His wife also posted what clearly looked like a goodbye tweet.
Not surprising such a cold, calculating front office would cut ties with a Red Sox icon. I hope the Fenway crowds let their feelings be known this weekend.
Ok, let’s get the facts straight here. AC inherited one of the top 5 teams in MLB history in 2018, a blind, deaf & dumb squirrel would’ve found the nut with the tiny flags on it that year. 2 playoffs, one close to the dance, the other miles away, the seasons inbetween were abysmal. Alex Cora may possess certain skills as a manager but 2 facts were glaring, #1) His players never seemed to improve on the mechanics or tendencies they needed to correct for improvement & #2 (really should be #1) He was a terrible “in game” manager! Consistently using the wrong players in the wrong order or position or relief or rotation. He bunts when no bunt should even enter one’s mind. His lineups were a scrabble bag of guessing and no player knew from 1 day to the next what to expect. Story is no longer a SS in MLB due to his arm mostly, and his run/throw on almost every play. He is a 2b for the rest of his career, Mayer on the other hand is, and should be the SS today. If they plan on Arias after 2027 fine, tell Mayer now as he switches to SS that it’s possible when story exits after 2027 he may return to 2b. Duran is your leadoff LF, Rafaela 2nd CF, Abreu 3rd RF, Contreras 4th 1b, Anthony DH 5th, Story 2b 6th, Mayer SS 7th, Monestario 8th 3b, Narvaez/Wong 9th with Durbin UT, Yoshida DH/UT-LF. Watson & Coloumbe DFA, Tolle stays in the rotation with Crochet, Gray, Early, Suarez, Tolle…Bello has been inconsistent at best and should likely transition to a bullpen role as he can’t seem to get past 3ip anyway and would be a great upgrade from Watson. I am exstatic AC is gone from this team. He may have a better role in baseball someday, but he will never be a good “in game” manager.
