Orioles Still Talking To Craig Wilson, Aubrey Huff
According to Roch Kubatko of the Baltimore Sun, the Orioles are still in talks with the representatives for Craig Wilson and Aubrey Huff. I assume they only want one of the two, as a team can only hold so many 1B/DH/OF types.
The O's have previously been linked to Adam LaRoche, Ben Broussard, Richie Sexson, Chris Shelton, and Carlos Pena. They've also attended Shannon Stewart's workout; there's speculation he'd be limited to a DH-type role as well.

Did the three team deal die between the yankees, pirates and Braves?

I'm so sick of that Pirates/Yankees/Braves thing...
So anyway, the level of talent and skill sets seem to be very different between all the players they have been linked to, do they have a plan or just want to fill a roster spot no matter what it costs?

...The Os need a bat at either OF to platoon with Payton in LF, or, a 1B bat to platoon with Millar...this is a similar route to what they did for Markakis...the Os never thought Gibbons was the longterm solution in RF...the plan has always been to eventually have him demoted to either DH or a bench LH bat...the Os have a few OF prospects (one of which rates 70 on the scouting 20-80 power scale) that they are buying some time for by not signing longterm heavy committments with, hence the Payton deal...
...right now the talks all seem to hinge on being able to fill LF/1B without giving up a thing in young players/prospects, or, signing a bat with maybe some risk/reward possibility...I don't think the Os are thinking of seriously competing until its pitching starts to come along...one of Low, DCab, Penn needs to make some progress to help out Bedard for the Os to start seriously making some big committments...

If the jays can't sign a pitcher, I'd like them to sign Aubrey Huff with that extra money. Where to put him? I don't really fucking care, put him at rover. But seriously, if he is 3/23 then that's a great value and I'd trade someone else. May as well have better offence and bacup for Glaus going down.

The Cubs should sign Aubrey Huff if Derrek Lee is not ready to go at the begining of the season.
