Rockies GM Dan O'Dowd commented today on the rumors that he will flip reliever Huston Street:
"There is nothing in place right now. I'm not saying we wouldn't move Huston, or anybody else, but right now I plan on him being with us. That's what I told Huston today."
It makes sense to hold on to Street for now, because the market has an abundance of closers and Street's value is down. O'Dowd would be better served letting him rack up saves and shopping him in July, when teams are desperate for relievers (especially with Street under team control through 2010).

non news. this is an attempt of the gm saying "well, we WANT to keep him, were not really selling him, unless of course we get alot back". the gm has to say that, because if it looks like there in sell mode the minute they get him, teams will try to get him cheaper because it looks like they dont want him or need him. the trade partners will come, he will be on another team by the end of the meetings, im ready to call that now

unless the rockies get an offer they know wont be beat, they should wait until he hits a hot streak and sell high. The only downside is if he gets hurt or pitches bad out of the gate his value goes even lower.

The Rockies definitely have to move this guy. If he sucked in a pitchers park in Oakland, imagine what he'll do at Coors. That'll be a nightmare, his ERA will be higher than Rosie O'Donnell's weight.

Street's value won't be going up after a season in Colorado! They should flip him now if they're smart.
