Rehabbing closer Chad Cordero will arrive at the Bellagio tonight, according to MLB.com's Bill Ladson. He and his agent plan to meet with the Mets, Cardinals, Rangers, Tigers, and D'Backs, but not the Nationals.

By signing Cordero one of those teams is going to add a first ballot hall of famer to the back of their bullpen and instantly compete for a pennant.

Not a good fit for the Rangers, luckily the Mets will outbid them.

Omar Minaya obviously has the connection with Cordero from his Montreal days and he lusted over him when he was the closer for Washington, so I would be kind of surprised if Cordero didn't sign with the Mets.
He's kind of a project given his injury status at the moment but he could potentially come back healthy and be effective once again. He will still only be 27 next season...

why couldnt the astros take a shot at chad cordero as bullpen help since doug brocail was resigned cheaply and could be traded in mid-season
