Dylan Hernandez of the L.A. Times has the latest on the Dodgers, as well as free agent pitcher Pedro Martinez.
- Nothing much to report with Manny Ramirez - there has been no new offer from the Dodgers yet but the two sides are still talking. That two-year $45MM offer Scott Boras dissed isn't looking too bad anymore.
- Boras is "just looking for a situation" for Andruw Jones. I see. Boras had a meeting in November with Ned Colletti and Joe Torre and the three decided to rework the contract and get him out of L.A.
- Hernandez says Trevor Hoffman remains a possibility but the Dodgers haven't heard back from Takashi Saito.
- The Dodgers are not pursuing Pedro, but he's narrowed his choices to two teams in each league according to his agent.
- Diamond Leung tells us the Dodgers signed infielder Juan Castro to a minor league deal.

Tim,
On the MLB Network hotstove show last night, they mentioned Trevor Hoffman as a possibility for Tampa Bay. Have you heard anything about this? Pretty sure it was Heyman who said it.

I find it a little funny that pedro has narrowed his choices to two teams in each league seeing as hes been awful for the last 3 years. I guess its alright if he is willing to take an enormous paycut.
He better hope those 4 teams have interest in him.

I bet Pedro signs with the Yanks..Manny is another story - I see LA or SF...and the NYY as a dark horse

i don't think he meant that pedro decided he would only accept interest from four certain teams, i read it more as pedro narrowing his decision to 4 of the teams showing interest. i also think he would be willing to take that paycut. petey may have an ego but he's a smart guy, he knows he isn't the same pitcher he used to be.

I find it funny that you don't seem smart enough to realize that when you do what Pedro has done, and your career is down to that final hurrah, you sort of have the right to pitch where you want. If not, he will walk away. That said, somebody should and will give him a shot. Hopefully it is the Mets. We have seen much worse pitchers then Pedro reinvent themselves at even later stages of their career then Pedro. My guesses for the four teams...... Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Marlins.

Yeah, he'll wanna pitch for the marlins. That makes a ton of sense.

The same thing that Happen with Furcal, will happen with Manny. Manny will get an offer from another team and almost Sign then the Dodgers will get worried and Sign him like they did with Furcal
