Am I the only person who thinks Haeger could’ve been fantastic out of the pen? You don’t see knuckleballers like him anymore outside of Wakefield; is that why he was starter or bust? As a long or middle reliever, you come out of the pen with that knuckleball for 2-4 innings, & nobody would have it figured out by the time Kuo or Broxton came in. And just try to hit a 98 mph fastball after seeing a 70 mph knuckler for a couple at-bats. Granted, it’s feast or famine & you never know whether he’ll throw strikes or balls, but neither do the hitters. I think he’s a cheap & undervalued asset for a bullpen that’s been awful. Don’t toss him, use him the right way, ’cause when he’s on, he’s on
