The Brewers got great value from Lohse and decent value from Wolf. They shouldn’t be used as cautionary tales.
However, Suppan was really bad, and barring a comeback season from Garza, he’s been bad.

Every Spring, Huntington is ripped for the moves he’s made in the offseason, then praised for them in August and September. When will people start to realize NH is one of the best, if not the best, GM in baseball.

I’m sure the whoever the new Brewer GM is will be surprised to learn that he’s not to sign any FA this winter. The problem with the Brewers is it’s the owner who’s dictating the decisions apparently. Frankly adding Zimmermann to a rotation of Nelson, Peralta, Jungman and a lineup with 4 legit power bats in Braun, Davis, Lind, and Santana along with an All Star caliber catcher in Lucroy would make the Brewers pretty competitive in 2016 without sacrificing any young talent of which they now have their share. It would also keep fan interest high.

Cervelli’s performance for the cost is amazing. The pirates couldn’t have asked for a better person to take over. I miss Martin though i’m glad the Pirates didn’t commit 80$ million to him.
I’m still up in the air about Happ. This performance is not sustainable.. hopefully he makes it through the year/post season at this level but i don’t see him with a sub 3.5 era next year. Who ever tries to sign him next year will probably think the same though he should still get a decent 1 year deal to prove this last month isn’t a fluke.
