Meija was suspended 162 games back on July 28th, so they wouldn’t have had him until late July/early August anyway.

Now it won’t matter anyway.

Sounds like a deadline deal may be more likely.

This will be Fernandez’s last year in Miami can see him been traded next Winter Dodgers and Yankees get ready
MB923
I doubt the Yankees have the prospects to get a deal done, even though they have 3-4 prospects (depending on the source you use) in the top 100.
Dodgers can definitely strike a deal, but I don’t think they will either.

Thinking Fernandez would cost the Yankees at least Severino, Judge, a healthy Bird, + more probably. The Yankees system can’t afford to take a hit like that for one player.

Yanks don’t have the prospects for a Fernandez deal but they could offer their next 20 1st round picks if they wanted since they rarely build their MLB team through the draft

Besides trading picks isn’t allowed
*besides competitive balance lottery picks

Forgot about that part. Seems crzy that teams can trade international draft slot money and straight up cash but not a draft pick
MB923
Called up Severino and Bird last year and likely Sanchez this year. If Judge hits in AAA, they might bring him up too. Don’t forget they’ve traded prospects too to get some key players (Pineda, Chapman, etc.)

I wonder if there is something fishy going on with the O’s and Gallardo.. Seems they’ve been talking for quite a while with nothing to show for it
Blue_Painted_Dreams_LA
You’d have to assume they’d be trying to get the go ahead from Fowler also.

Hahahahahaha and people liked the Phillies picking up Harrison in the Hamels trade. What a joke.
antsal
Harrison went to Philadelphia as part of the financial balancing in last summer’s Cole Hamels trade, and his new club would stand to recoup some insurance proceeds for whatever period he is unable to work.
Great business move by the Phillies. They were going to give more cash in the deal or take back Harrison’s contract. They take back Harrison’s contract, get better prospects and get the insurance company to pay a good deal of the amount owed to Harrison. If they had just given cash, that money would be gone. If Harrison pitches or not it really didn’t cost them anything for the gamble.
