The whole office should be let go. Results say it all. It can’t be pointed at 1 of these but all of them. Dismantle a promising farm, spend money on pitchers that can’t get ground ball outs in a launching pad of a stadium, claim to pretend to know what they are doing, etc…..
If they were doctors they would of been sued of malpractice.
HalElliott
Cannot argue with this.

It’s silly to cut and run after a single bad season. Miller is still talented. ML roster still has some excellent pieces.

The bush leagues are filled with talented players. Maybe Miller becomes serviceable but he is not now nor has he ever been an ace. Talent alone will not help.

lol ok. you keep thinking that media.licdn.com/mpr/mpr/shrinknp_800_800/AAEAAQAAA…

I can’t believe they let them run the team just because they were a pitcher and a manager and have no idea what the hell there doing.Maybe there working for the Braves

Almost 2 years ago to the day people were fearing what the D-backs could become with La Russa leading operations. Today there’s talk about him not being back next year.
Baseball is unbelievably unpredictable for even non-players.
halos101
just like Phil Jackson in the NBA. some are just better coaches than team-builders
One Fan
Yes but also almost two years to the day many people were also questioning the hiring of LaRussa
ib6ub9
They need to clean house like everyone!
DarkGhost
Everybody has to go. I mean everybody, anybody that is involved in that front office needs to be fired.
willi
La Russo and Stewart are out their Element One or Both need to go !
AngelFan69
I agree … Hope the do the same thing to the kakabrainiacs that have ruined the Angels …
ib6ub9
you don’t trade your future away for one starting pitcher who is not a number 1 starter (ace) doesn’t make much sense.
sbrown285
They should take the front office behind the shed
joedirte4life
Noooooooooooooo as a Braves fan I think Dave Stewart has done a tremendous job.
We need a sucker…….er I mean a good trade partner.

Kevin Towers was pretty good for you guys also
Perhaps ownership should take responsibility too since it spent 2 regimes providing Atlanta a farm team
One Fan
I am not sure what the ownership needs time to figure out? They have the worst front office in baseball period. Back up the truck. Clean house pronto. Hire a real baseball executive. Managing the team in the dugout that a real front office provides does not equate to being able to be a baseball operation chief. If there was any doubt LaRussa proved that point.

Tommy Lasorda was a horrible GM too
Konerko – Jeff Shaw
Lilly – Grudzielanek and Carlos Perez
Called up Beltre too quick and thus he hit free agency just after his MVP

I think Dave Stewart’s qoute is really funny, “I think we’ve done a good job adding players to the organization…”???? It’s as if they told him to say the opposite of what any one would say about them
WAH1447
Retain them all!! I love the work the front office has done. I think they should just trade Braden Shipley to the braves we can give you Jim Johnson and Eric O ‘ Flaherty I think Dave and tony would be all over this
SupremeZeus
Derrick Hall also needs to be fired.

Some of it is just so believably unbelievable. Missing on a Cuban prospect happens, paying him way too much happens, but how do you not know how the international signing rules work? How did no one in the entire office / scouting try to stop him? Did they and he figured he was too far in to turn back? Then there are the jokes (but are they really jokes?) that they traded for the wrong brother from the Red Sox system. To top it off I’d love to know what sort of against the rules trade he cooked up and whether it was something ticky-tacky or dead obvious that made it impossible.
Arizona Diamondbacks
Everything went wrong for the D-Backs this year: Zack Greinke didn’t live up to expectations (4.13 ERA compared to last year’s 1.66 ERA), Shelby Miller flopped (7.14 ERA) warranting a demotion to AAA, AJ Pollock had a season ending injury, David Peralta had a season ending injury, Patrick Corbin has pitched poorly (5.49 ERA) and has subsequently been moved to the bullpen, Rubby De La Rosa got injured, and Chris Owings was on the DL for 6 weeks. These factors have had dastardly effects on the team that was once thought of as a contender for the NL West title. The D-Backs have the worst ERA in the league with a terrible 5.09 average, and also are ranked 29th in hits against per 9 and 29th in walks pitched per 9. However our hitting hasn’t been too bad. We are ranked 9th for BA, 5th for hits per game, and 14th for runs. Therefore if the pitching squad improves to meet expectations and Pollock and Peralta return (which they will) we can definitely contend in 2017.
That said I do not think that all of the troubles this year have been due to the Stewart/LaRussa duo. They have definitely made some horrible moves, namely the Miller/Swanson trade which it was the most lopsided trade last year, However there have been a lot of other factors like injures contributing to the despicable season that we have had. Conclusively, we have a below average front office that could be improved if we clean house. Even in a season where there are a lot of damaging injures, a competent front office would be able to achieve at least .500 with the team that we have.

What were they thinking? I have zero sympathy for the Dbags and the gross overpay to Greinke and Miller. Another team tried to bet everything on one star back in ’01 (for less money!) and we all know how that worked out. This front office needs to go. Being a Dodger fan, I was bummed when Greinke went to Arizona but the asking price was just too damn ridiculous. I never loved Zack but now I can’t stand the guy. No loyalty at all. Just a greedy mercenary. I realize many will not count this against him (Greinke) but what the hell is the diff if you make the kind of bank he does? He obviously doesn’t care about winning, as the Dodgers WILL win a WS this decade. Pitching number two to Kersh, what a dream 1 and 2 but it wasn’t enough for him??? Bon Voyage, Jackass.
