By Ben Nicholson-Smith | October 25, 2011 at 3:06pm CDT

Here are the latest outright assignments from around MLB…

  • The Brewers announced that they outrighted infielder Josh Wilson and right-hander Mark DiFelice to Triple-A. Wilson posted a .224/.258/.353 line for the D'Backs and Brewers in 2011. The 30-year-old played all four infield positions for Milwaukee and appeared in left field. DiFelice appeared in three games for the Brewers and spent most of the season at Triple-A, where he had a 2.17 ERA with 9.6 K/9 and 1.9 BB/9 in 29 innings.

Minor League Deals: Nats, DiFelice

By Cork Gaines | December 15, 2009 at 5:56pm CDT

A couple more players with big league experience have signed minor league deals…

  • The Nationals announced that they have signed four more players with big league experience to minor league deals including Joel Peralta, Logan Kensing, Jamie Burke and Pete Orr.
  • Adam McCalvy reports that the Brewers have signed Mark DiFelice to a minor league deal despite the expectation that he will miss the 2010 season following shoulder surgery. According to McCalvy, the Brewers made the move so that they can oversee his rehab. DiFelice appeared in 59 games for Milwaukee in 2009 with a 3.66 ERA. DiFelice said he still hopes to pitch this season and suggests he will re-sign with the Brewers next year because of this committment from the team.

Brewers Notes: Correia, Counsell, Non-Tenders

By Zachary Links | December 12, 2009 at 9:12pm CDT

Some Brewers tidbits courtesy of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt:

  • Brewers GM Doug Melvin told Haudricourt that he called the Padres earlier today and inquired about Kevin Correia.  Even though he made his interest known, San Diego never followed up and instead signed the righty to a one-year deal.
  • Melvin also confirmed that he has a tentative agreement in place for veteran Craig Counsell to return in 2010.  He expects it to be finalized Monday.
  • The decision to non-tender Seth McClung, Mark DiFelice, and Mike Rivera was not financially motivated, according to Melvin.  For up-to-the-minute news on other players not being tendered, check out our running post.
