« Odds and Ends: Lane, K-Rod, Adam LaRoche | Main | Jason Botts Acquired By Nippon Ham »
Esteban Loaiza is back with the White Sox, this time as a reliever. I believe ESPN 1000's Bruce Levine had the scoop once again.
Loaiza, 36, pitched in seven games for the Dodgers this year before being designated for assignment to make room for Clayton Kershaw. Loaiza is back under pitching coach Don Cooper, who helped him win 21 games in '03.

Oh my...Tim, do you really think Don Cooper can help him? He began to struggle even after Don helped him develop that Cutter that he learned in 03...

Yes, I expect Loaiza to win 21 games this year now.

I don't think this is exactly what Ozzie had in mind.

That a way Ken. Lets upgrade the other teams offense by bringing in Loaiza.

I think it's a decent acquisition, If the white sox can't hit they need some really good relief pitching to get them wins. In 2005 it was all those one run wins that got them to the world series, and if they want to make the playoff's this year that has to repeat itself. BTW where are all the people that said the white sox would be bottom dwellers this year? and that detroit had a lock on the central? mhm.

Not the worst thing in the world. He's replacing Wassermann in the bullpen. Can't really get any worse then the way Wassermann has pitched since being called up.

The White Sox could have used Loaiza last night. I bet we'll see his debut tonight unless JC goes 8.

Don't forget that they have the game to finish against the Twins, which will be on Monday. They had already used alot of pitchers in that game and can't use those same ones again. Loaiza will probably end up starting that unfinished game.

The game that got suspended was against the Orioles. Loaiza in the bullpen shouldnt be too bad.

The unfinished game was baltimore. Linebrink finished that game, and I'm sure he'll pitch another inning, since he should be ready. Although I could see them using Massett or Loaiza for that game too.

This acquistion also shifts the role of Nick Masset from long relief man to spot starter. This will help the Sox keep FLoyd and Danks fresher down the stretch, so this move really does look nice to sox fans, plus the zesty one is a great clubhouse guy. Also, congrats for paulie's game-winner last nite, he needed that one

O'where are the blood-thirsty masses who wanted to throw Joe Crede at the Giants for a minor leaguer or two? O'where are the clones who smirk and snivel at Kenny Williams every move. Their words like open graves. Their minds like a leaf in the wind;blowing every which way. How does this sound? Enjoy some good baseball, support your team (ss-hitmen), remain optimistic and hope for the best. Put that on the board. Yeeeee-eeees!!!
