J.P. needs to be fired already no matter what someone says being in the front office you never say crap like this. He's done nothing for toronto and is just a distraction now. Give him the boot.

"Gregg Zaun would welcome a trade. GM J.P. Ricciardi responded by saying "someone has to want you."
you know love or Hate Ricciardi you gotta enjoy some of his quotes.

The same will be said for Ricciardi once he's fired, "Someone has to want you J.P."

So JP releases Thomas in an ugly situation, then he talks crap about Dunn, a guy not even on his team, then there are the rumblings that Halladay wants out, and then JPs reaction to Zaun's comments. I almost think he hates Canada but has too much pride to quit so he's trying to get fired. Or he's just a moron.

Tim, I think that the fact that Maine has regressed and been very bad this year would have more affect on extension talks then this injury. Maine has not been near what the team expected of him, and this has been his worst season so far since joining the Mets. He has just lost control of the strike zone, and he throws so many pitches to every batter he never gets past the 6th inning. I dont think this injury is going tp be a big deal though. They have off days Thursday and Monday, so they can afford to easily skip Maine if he needs a few extra days rest.

Adam Dunn and Gregg Zaun should join forces and fight JP Riccardi (who needs to be fired).

Can we stop bringing up the "rumblings about Halladay wanted out" thing to bash Ricciardi? There's enough stuff out there to criticize him for without trying to criticize him for something that has been called a fabrication. To quote Halladay after last night's game:
"It's frustrating that comments like that get turned around on you but I've never gone to management," Halladay stated. "I'm not going anywhere, I'm happy here and I don't know how many times I can say it in different ways.
"I hope people understand it, but those comments were based on us as players. ... How it's frustrating, how we haven't been able to figure out how to win. It had nothing to do with the front office or being unhappy here. There's never been any of those conversations. It's frustrating that you try and clear things up but it just didn't get through."
People keep bringing it up, and I think that's the third interview in which I've heard Halladay say there's no truth to it.
As for Zaun... I can understand why he's unhappy, but Barajas is playing better. Zaun is better at blocking the plate and is a smart (but slow) baserunner. Barajas hits and throws out runners. He's also been calling better games. The way Zaun's been playing, Barajas is more valuable to the team.
I think the best thing that could be done for the team and for Zaun is to move him.
