I'm really suprised we haven't heard anything about the Twins being in on a guy like Fuentes. We could DEFINITELY use guy like him to set up Nathan...

Barmes is a definite upgrade over Jason Bartlett, at least with the bat.

I like the Taveras idea moreso than Barmes. With Taveras in that lineup the rays will be running all over everybody.

RZR says its basically a wash in the field with Barmes and Bartlett.

Neither make much sense at all for the Rays. Barmes is NOT an offensive upgrade over Bartlett. For his career he is .227/.266/.334 away from Coors Field. The Rays need a RH bat and not Willy Taveras's RH bat. His sub .600 OPS this year is not what the Rays need at all.

While I disagree that Taveras' is as much of a weak link at the plate as others think, mostly because of his ability to run and bunt marginalizing his low slugging, I don't think that he helps the Rays. Defensively, he would be a plus, but I think Eric Hinske is a more valuable player in that specific lineup.
