« Heyman's Latest: Sabathia, Dunn, Blake | Main | Yankees In Trade Talks For Washburn »
Here's one I missed from this morning. According to George King of the New York Post:
Yankee scout Rick Williams is following the Dodgers, who will entertain offers for right-hander Derek Lowe if he will bring L.A. a much-needed bat.
Hard to think of a good match there. Plus, why would the Dodgers trade Lowe when they're a half-game out? Even if Lowe walks after the season he's good for two draft picks.

not really good trading partners if LAD is wanting Major league ready bats. how about young pitching depth seeing Kershaw is a bust(lol)

Lol. A bust just like Phil Hughes AND Ian Kennedy.
Lol

The Yanks and Dodgers don't match up well and I believe a 3 way deal could be proposed.
Yankees get Derek Lowe.
Indians get Yankee prospects.
Dodgers get Casey Blake.
Look good?

Kinda funny, a Yankee fan calling Kershaw a bust when the Yankees own "super prospects" Hughes and Kennedy havent done anything.

wtf, i though Californians were laid back; it was clearly a joke. i think i hit a soft spot

I'm pretty sure I'll disagree with just about everything ArodMVP217 will say on here, except for this.
Everyone knows Kershaw is going to be nasty, clearly he was saying that as a joke. Don't worry, I got your back over here.
But no, Blake for Lowe is a terrible offer. Maybe Blake and Peralta, but I'm not sure the Indians have any interest in trading him away and then what would the Yanks send to Cleveland? Cleveland needs young, impact bats and I'm not sure the Yanks have the depth in the minors to give up. (I know they have good position players, but what ones would you want to trade for 1/2 season of DLowe? Tabata, Jackson? Montero? Didn't think so.)

As a Yank fan I don't buy this. The New York Post is full of crap anyway and everybody knows this wont happen. The Dodgers are in the mix no need to give away your best pitcher,

"Yankees get Derek Lowe.

That is a terrible deal. Lowe has much more value for for the Dodgers than Blake does, particularly considering Penny wont be back till around the first of August. Lowe would have to bring in a big bat. I like the Abreu idea, but even with their newfound willingness to bench Jones I don't think the Dodgers could bench Pierre too, especially considering he has worked to come back 3 weeks early. Pierre wouldn't make sense for the Yankees, because he would mean 2 weak arms in the outfield when combined with Damon.
"Proctor for Betemit"
That is funny. Problem is, Proctor is hurt and Betemit has no place on the field.
