Woo!!! Let the madness begin!

Congrats Phillies... too bad I can't laugh at the city any more... I actually thought the Cubs would win first. Oh well, congrats on the best team winning.
So 15 days before the beginning of the madhouse. Any last bets in the Sabathia sweepstakes? But really, I personally like the winter meetings, always so many fun/crazy/ridiculous rumors.

now that the series is over, and before all the madness of the offseason starts, id just like to go on record saying that this was the WORST world series ever. what an odd series, congratulations to the phillies and gillick on a great team/season, but really, what an awful world series

i think this series had a lot of potential. it wasn't the same teams that dominate the national television schedule (dodges, yankees, angels, red sox). yes, those arethe big markets, but it's better for everyone, i think, to see some different teams on such a big stage. the rays are not only a great feel good cinderella team, but they are to be considered a legitimate threat for the foreseeable future. the phillies are a team that has been on the cusp the past few years that have finally broken through. the only downside to this series was the weather and the business aspect of it. i say screw the business, give me some good baseball, which is what we got out of these two teams.

i understand your point, as a sox fan, i admit the sox/yanks dominate headlines and that its not really good because people forget there are 28 other teams, but i meant in terms of the series. bad weather, bad calls, lots of botched calls actually, that walk call to baldelli was an absolute disgrace. calling a suspension in the middle of an inning and delaying the game 2 days, just awful, i say play in the rain. just piss poor management ruined it for me
the best part was when it was over, all the phil fans booed the commish, rock on

Congrats to Philly for sure.
But I really want to say congrats to the Rays, who despite being one of the lowest budgets in baseball, made it to the WS.
All this after having finished last the year before. Inspirational.
They have a real bright future, those Rays.
It just shows that great drafting will get you places.

The weather did really put a real damper on this series. it was one of the worst series but it was because of the weather not because of the teams playing. the best game no one seen cause it ended at 2 in the morning because of a rain delay.
