« Yankees Release Humberto Sanchez | Main | Logan Kensing Designated For Assignment »
According to Greg Schaum of KCSP 610 radio in Kansas City, the Royals have designated catcher Brayan Pena for assignment to clear roster space for Jose Guillen. Pena, 27, was 2-for-7 this season with one RBI. With Miguel Olivo and John Buck splitting most of the time behind the plate, he was a bit of a misfit.

No surprises here. If only they could designate Farnsworth...

One of the Braves former players that Moore signed gone. Who will be the next one?

anyone know why this guy doesn't stick?
then again, like being a bullpen lefty, being a switch-hit backup catcher will always get you a tryout
you'd think someone with another cuban (betancourt in seattle; morales in anaheim; white sox) would bring him in

Perfect timing! I hope the Braves bring him back. He'd be better than Sammons while McCann is out. It was kind of a mystery why they let him go last year in the first place.

"One Pena gone, one more to go..."
The other one had to go much, much earlier.
