Stop turning every topic into a Dodger dream.

its the truth. If Webb is released, why wouldnt he want to go to a divison rival, in a warm state, on a young, constantly winning team, to get back at the Dbacks 18 times a yr. They play in the weak division and will be able to face the free swinging Dbacks, along with the Pads, enough said, the Rockies who dont know if they are contenders or not, and the Giants with their .5 runs per game. there would be a very good chance that he would go to the Dodgers.

why would u even consider possibly not picking up webb option. He is a cyyoung pitcher, and its only 8.5 million on a team that doesnt have a big salary. IT is a risk worth taking and if ineffective, he could be traded ad insurance covers portions of the contract when a player is on the dl.

I remember Webb saying a few years ago that he was willing to take less money to stay in Phoenix. I would hope that Aizona would show him the same respect and pick up his option.

"Depending on the severity of the injury, this may impact the Rockies' decision to trade closer Huston Street."
I really don't get this idea made by most sport writers that the Rockies trade Huston Street. There is no stability in the bullpen there without him, and the Rockies are TWO games out of the wildcard. If they didn't sell last year despite being 7 out and well under .500, there is no way the Rockies sell unless the 14 wins out of the last 15 is complemented by the opposite happening.

There is now way the Dbacks let Webb go. He his one of the top pitchers in the game, and if there was any chance that releasing him meant him going to a division rival, they would pick up that option. Webb just needs to relax and let this year go, the Dbacks aren't in the race, and h should think long term and build up his arm for 2010, his contract year. Injured or not, a Cy Young pitcher at 8.5 mill is a bargain, and it will be a sad day in Arizona if the Dbacks are cheap and let him go. They would lose fans and therefore, money.
