hell yeah it was a no-brainer.
1 year of vlad(1 full year hopefully) verses 3 years of Byrd for 10million more bucks?

What does a wrist injury have to do with movement?
Luke Adams
I imagine it’d be Lowell’s hip issue accounting for the poor movement.

obviously lowell is considering changing professions and become an acrobat and walk on his hands.
DUH!

I honestly hope the Red Sox hold on to Lowell at this point. They’re safer with Lowell as a DH, and better off trading Ortiz away for hardly anything in May/June.

The Red Sox are safer with Lowell as a DH rather than Ortiz. Unless Ortiz jumps out with at least a few homers in April (a “few” more than last April) then otherwise they need to just trade Ortiz away. Really if either gets traded at this point, the Sox will receive essentially nothing in return.

Looking at Michael’s career numbers… Nomar obviously got most of the talent…

Marlon Byrd wasn’t a good signing, but he sure seems like a likeable guy.

Mike Lowell, IMO, is one of the most under-rated third basemen in recent times. I agree that he’d make an excellent DH for the Sox. This site rocks, btw!

I think that Lowell is worth far more to the Sox than they could possibly get for him in a trade.
