Man oh man, I cant wait to see the competiton for lefty relievers for the Sox heating up, I mean theres Andrew Miller, but then, theres Andrew Miller!
FrankTheFunkasaurusRex
I think the dark horse for the job is Andrew Miller
Boogey_Down_Bronx
They could be a filthy 1,2 punch
0bsessions
Hopefully one of them does a better job than the Ramon Ramirez tandem of last year.

Fun Fact: Did you know Andrew Miller and Andrew Miller have the same birthday?
Just checked on Baseball Reference!
Green_Monster
They also have the same height and weigh the same, isn’t that weird?
Slopeboy
… But can he pitch on Brian Cashman’s birthday?
dtab24
Why is there an extra Andrew Miller in there?
Green_Monster
You didn’t know there was 2 Andrew Miller’s? Catch up.
wickedkevin
Pfft, an obvious Red Sox troll.
Todd Smith
He’s vying for a roster spot twice as hard as everybody else.
NickinIthaca
I figured it was just because he needed the extra look to make the team…
foxtown
Didn’t the Red Sox basically stalk Crawford for a few months? I think they would have noticed a fragile ego. Either way, he’ll be drying his tears with Benjamins.
Fangaffes
I agree that Doubront will start the season in Pawtucket as a starter. Andrew Miller, Rich Hill, and Andrew Miller will probably all be there working on their mechanics. Interesting to hear that Oki can still be sent down. I guess, to start the season, it’s Reyes’ job to lose.
Green_Monster
Oh my god, you actually think there is two Andrew Miller’s? Sad. But really, who do you think will make the team? Andrew Miller or Andrew Miller?
Ben_Cherington
Wait…there is only one Andrew Miller?? Huh, guess you cant believe everything you read on the internet!
start_wearing_purple
It’s looking like it’s really a race between Reyes and Okajima and supposedly Flood is already loving what he’s seen from Reyes.

Southpaws Andrew Miller, Felix Doubront, Rich Hill, Dennys Reyes and Andrew Miller?
Damn. Andrew Miller and Andrew Miller are so close in skill, I don’t know who is better!
start_wearing_purple
Yes, I’m pretty sure the joke has run its course by now.
ellisburks
But what about Andrew Miller and Andrew Miller?
Brad426
This is funnier than yesterday’s “Weiner” post.

wrong website bro
BobMexico
The real joke is seeing Andrew Miller and skill in the same sentence.
Leonard Washington
I think Andrew Miller still has immense upside, if he realizes any of it our rotation would be filthy. Still not too likely though ill admit. Crawford and Gonzalez are gonna fit right in though, Crawford especially.

Dear Ken Rosenthal~ Carl Crawford has played in Boston before, in fact he was awesome there, while with the Rays (an AL East team) he stole 4 bases, you see he has been in the majors for some time now and I believe he should do just fine at Fenway, what adjustments does he need to make….slow down?
wickedkevin
He stole 4 bases? What?
MaineSox
He collects them
MaineluvstheSox
Yeah, I was a little perplexed at that too. I guess Rosenthal was having a slow day at the typewriter. Crawford isn’t going to adjust much and I’m pretty sure Boston is going to love him. He is a dynamic player.

People really need to stop mentioning Miller as a bullpen candidate. While the team hasn’t OFFICIALLY come out and said whether they see him as a starter or a reliever in the long term, their current lack of SP depth makes it almost a given than Miller will begin the season starting in Pawtucket. The 3 lefties competing for 1 (or MAYBE two) bullpen spots are Okie, Hill and Reyes. Okie got rocked in a ST game the other day and still has options while Rich Hill’s new sidearm delivery is getting a lot of praise from Tito and Young. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Hill make the pen – even it means Okie doesn’t at first.

Crawford went 0-3 in the same game. Total bust!!!
BoSoXaddict
My point is that Okie is COMPETING for a bullpen spot along with Reyes and Hill. The fact that he has a Major League contract isn’t going to lead to his automatic inlcusion in the bullpen and there are reasons to believe that Hill and/or Reyes may turn out to be more appealing LRP options once ST is over..
