Didn’t Jordan Parraz get claimed twice too? Red Sox claimed him then the Yankees did.

You’re right, I missed the first claim. Thanks, I added it to the post.

Waste of story. Who gives an eff?

Who cares what you think? Are you a paying customer?
TDKnies
Because we could better spend our time reading ANOTHER story about Pujols or Michael Young? At least this is something different and mildly interesting (albeit unimportant).

Is he gonna get blocked on his very first comment?
jeffbrown
It just seems he is really reaching for a story. If comments aren’t wanted, disable the feature.

They’re wanted, but ones that diss the website aren’t. Good luck, but it does say write in the commenting policy that comments that are bad for buisness will be deleted and the poster will be blocked. Take a look at it and be careful.

Who effin cares if it’s reaching? You obviously cared enough to comment twice. It takes half a millisecond to skip the post if you don’t like it. Personally, I wish the author would expand the topic to provide some insight as to why these particular players were waived multiple times.
jeffbrown
Here is the reason they were waived multiple times: They aren’t any good.
damnitsderek
Ever heard of a roster crunch? Dumb comment.
jb226 2
That’s a really shallow comment. If they weren’t any good, they would only be waived once and then given up on. Particularly when it happens twice in one offseason, as they couldn’t possibly have done anything baseball-related to go from “guy we want to give a shot to” “nevermind.”
If the team didn’t want them, they would be released and/or never claimed in the first place. These players were DFA’d; what the team wanted wasn’t to lose the player, but to free up the 40 man roster spot. A claim means another team finds them valuable enough to give the roster spot to. There are plenty of players in the minor leagues who “aren’t any good;” who are just organizational filler or longshots — but these players aren’t protected within the organization with a 40 man roster spot. That is pretty much the opposite of not being any good. They may never be superstars (or maybe they will be–David Ortiz anybody?) but they can still be valuable pieces of a team.

Hey, I’m desperate for any news about baseball season. It’s almost time for the games to start dude, it’s like this every year.

Wow….just wow.
MetsFanXXIII
Who’s that trip-trapping over my bridge?
bigpat
If any of these guys post a .01 WAR in the majors, I will eat my hat. It’s funny seeing some guys tossed around from team to team, only to be minor league fodder.

I seem to remember Max Ramirez being pretty highly touted… I guess his stock has dropped a bit…

How about an in depth analysis as to why Gregorio Petit was released before ST began. Inquiring minds want to know!
