Why can’t Selig force a sale of the Mets like he is (eventually) doing with the Dodgers? Please God let that happen.
icedrake523
Because the Mets didn’t need to get a $200M loan.

No… The Mets need more than $200m dollars…
icedrake523
Who doesn’t? The point is they still have enough money to operate the team. McCourt doesn’t have that luxury.
Guest 6776
They won’t if they lose the one billion dollar lawsuit…
icedrake523
That won’t be settled for a LONG time. They probably won’t lose all $1B that Picard is trying to get.
Guest 6784
they are selling 25% of their team… they took out a 25m loan from Major League Baseball, and they’re facing a $1 billion lawsuit…

That’s all I’ve been saying since the lawsuit implicating them in the Madoff scheme broke.
Still…if/when all those debts come crashing down and make Selig’s genero$ity and confidence in Fred Wilpon’s ability to rebound financially make him look, well…stupid, he may have no choice!
Tom
Because he and Selig are buds, Selig is a very transparent individual.
