looks like some team is gearing up for the rule 5 draft… or they just have a bunch of players that need to go on the roster.

Antonio Nicarelli
We knew Pena well enough. As poorly as he pitched this year, and then suffered a debilitating injury, his release was a move just waiting to happen.

Someone has to take a chance on Shane Lindsay. He has a career 12.2 K/9 ratio.
If only he could control his walks (career 6.8 BB/9).
Lastings
If he can’t throw strikes in the minors, he will never throw strikes in the majors. There’s a reason that three, now four organizations have passed on this guy.

John Axford?
Lastings
Juan Perez? The left-hander can throw consistently in the 90s and has respectable strikeout numbers; like Lindsay he can’t throw strikes. There’s a lot more of the Perez/Lindsay category than the Axford category.
leachim2
True but there are the Axfords.
