Quick Hits: Dodgers, Byrd, Soler, Red Sox, Cubs

The Dodgers have been sliding as of late and though they could use some reinforcements, they might not get them any time soon. General Manager Ned Colletti said that he has been contacting other teams for the last month to inquire about potential trades but hasn't found much yet, writes Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times.  More from around baseball..

The trades suggested by Bowden give evidence to why he is no longer a GM.

Holy Smokes! As a huge Cubs fan if Theo and Jed pulled off all 3 trades Bowden suggest I would go to the local bar and buy drinks for the house all night.

What are the trades?

Dempster for Medlen and Minor

Garza for Turner and Castellanous

Lahair for Chissenhall and Hagadone

Sorry for the spelling, away from the article.

So, in Bowden’s scenario Theo has compromising pictures of several GMs?

ESPN needs to stop charging for information. They already make enough money off sponsors.

i agree that it’s tacky of them to do so, but it’s not so much information as it is opinion. we can live without throwing our money at them for useless articles.

What a coin toss.. Which useless dolt gets released 1st between McDonald and Byrd.. Any option for a twin killing there?

Yeah really. I’d keep Byrd in a ‘I’d rather have my eyesight then hearing’ kind of decision. Atleast Byrd has a better track record.

I feel like Byrd is the keeper by far. At least he looks like he’s trying, and he’s been plenty successful in the past.

Garza to Detroit for Turner/Castellanos.
Dempster to Atlanta for Medlen/Minor.
Lahair to Cleveland for Chisenhall/Hagadone.

Atl wouldnt want Dempster. They might not mind getting rid of Minor, whos struggling, but not both Medlen and Minor. Same with Garza-Bowden is overvaluing him-Id try to see what Toronto might offer for Garza first.
