Quick Hits: Rangers, Pirates, Rockies, Bonds

Mitch Moreland and Elvis Andrus are the only two position players remaining on the Rangers roster who played in the 2010 World Series against the Giants, the Associated Press writes.  "You realize sometimes how crazy baseball is and how everything can change in a couple of years," Andrus said. "It's crazy. That's why you have to enjoy every second, every moment of this. Because you never know what's going to happen in the future." Here's more from around baseball.

Andrew Lambo + Brandon Cumpton/Duke Welker for Justin Smoak?

What makes you think Smoak is worth that? The most they should give up for Smoak would be one of Mazarro/Morris/Gomez. IMO, they’re better off with Lambo.

The Pirates shouldn’t settle for other team’s 1B scrubs. That’s exactly what Smoak/Moreland/Davis are. I’ll put Lind in a better category, but I don’t see why Toronto would trade him. He’s basically the Jays only source of LH power.

How about thinking outside the box to get a better player. Such as Daniel Nava, Matt Adams, Chris Carter, or hell, even Adam Dunn.
