It was about time, Zach had a far better ST showing than the majority of this pen and I was stunned that he didn’t get a spot on the opening day roster.

Putnam: 1 walk, 11 Ks over 6 innings. I like that. Walks killed us last night.
Jesus Ortiz
To be honest only 3 runs scored in those 15 walks
Joe Orsatti
Veal is a 29 year old lefty who has had crazy good seasons. I’d imagine he’ll find a new home soon.
jjs91
He’s had one good season and was just kicked out of a pretty bad bullpen.
Patrick OKennedy
He’s an ABC lefty reliever (anyone but Coke).

Well I don’t know why MLBTR deleted my comment, but as I said before, Putnam had a far better spring than the majority of this pen and I was floored that they didn’t put him on the opening day roster.

Why not Ronald Belisario first? His numbers are far worse in the same amount of innings pitched.
Jacob Holton
They upgraded their offense this off-season so maybe this is a sign that they will start to upgrade that bullpen a tad more.

I remember Donnie Veal as a Rule 5 pick trying to stay on the Pirates roster all season in 2009. He was wild then, wild now. Sadly, he has been more about potential and being big and left-handed than he has about results, especially after his arm problems.

Mets maybe?
Tigers72
He has to be better than Phil Coke.
