Find it a bit hard to see Asdrubal as a Jays fit right now. Converting him back to 2B mid-season, and him adapting to the turf, seems like a bit of a challenge. I could see a match this offseason though.
Alex Andreopoulos
Indeed, especially with the Indians still technically in the race.

I’m sure the padres are happy with Solarte for Headley. Solarte has done well with the padres since being traded. Btw both hit their 1st homer with their new teams yesterday. When’s the last time guys that were traded for each other hit their 1st homer for their new team on the same day?

Francisco for Headley straight up was too much given the team control on both players and the seasons they are having. Asking for 2 more prospects on top of that is a little insane. That is giving Headley way too much credit for his ONE great season, that he has otherwise never come close to matching.

I’m also very glad the Jays did not make this trade. It would have been ludicrous.

The park effects at play on both sides are so extreme that I don’t think you’re properly evaluating either player.
The $ and control is a big deal, though – agreed on that.

Sean Nolin is coming back at the perfect time. He’s one of the few upper minors guys that has value. I don’t think AA will deal Norris or Pompey. If he can get something decent for a package centered around Nolin, that would be a good result.
Alex Andreopoulos
I completely agree. Pompey and Norris are going nowhere, or if they are, it won’t be for anything short of one of the best players in baseball. Nolin, on the other hand, could be included in a deal to help acquire a useful cog in the wheel.
