Only 1 ROY candidate and that’s Severino. Don’t pay attention to his FIP, it’s all about the ERA.

Couldn’t agree more.. The 5 innings a start that he gives you should put him in Cy Young contention as well..
Brixton
He has 6 starts, and averages 6 IP per start. He might not even get a vote.
Correa is going to win it unless he completely collapses or Sano has a crazy good September.
I don’t see Lindor getting much love because he plays for a bad team.

any argument that includes “don’t pay attention to this particular stat” loses all credibility from the get-go….
if you’re trying to determine the best rookie in a given season, ALL stats matter.

I think your comment of all stats matter is spot on. It is that precise reason that Sano won’t win. He doesn’t play defence making him only half a baseball player.
Yogajonny
Hahaha. Lol. He has barely had a sip of coffee at the MLB level, let alone a cup. Nice try. Delusional Yankees fans make me laugh. Might as well join the Mets bandwagon. They are the only NYC team with any kind of chance this year.

With Buehrle, Price and likely Estrada leaving us this off season I don’t think the Jays can afford not to bring back Dickey and his 200innings.

Shame Devon Travis has been hurt. He is third in AL rookie fWAR despite missing most of June and all of Aug-Sept.

I think its a no brainer on Dickey. 12M doesnt get you much today, and is a steal for a guy who will give you 200 innings and an ERA around 3.70-4.20. In the ALE, thats not bad with those hitters ballparks. Im still laughing at the porcello contract, and yes, that has nothing to do with my comment. Its just funny. hehe. Also, id say Correa takes it over Sano because of the defence hes playing at SS. Roberto Osuna a possible option? 20 year old rookie closing for the blue jays. Hard for a reliever to win it I suppose.
Sweety2002
I think Roberto Osuna should be the Rookie of the Year. He’s 20 years old and he’s closing out games for Toronto. His numbers warrant top consideration for it. Plus, he pitches like he’s a seasoned veteran, not a first year rookie.

As far as ROY Correa in a landslide. Five tool guy versus one tool guy Sano and playing the most important position in the field. As far as Dickey I think 9 million with 3 million in incentives is fair. If some other team wants to give him more than let them. Dickey has streaks of good and bad and it looks like he and all the Jay pitchers except Price are on a downswing. Toronto has overpaid for Dickey for three years now.
