Really like these signings for the Angels. I believe both gentlemen are assets to the organization no matter their capacity. On a second note, I’m glad DiSarcina is off of third base duties, I witnessed far too many out at third and home due to his decision making.

Completely agree. Smart decision to bring in a couple old Scioscia guys after getting rid of one. This thinking by Eppler may have gone a long way for Dipoto after dismissing Butcher.

DiSarcina can’t help it, he is the human windmill

looks like the front office is going to be in good shape from now on

Depends on how much Moreno lets his front office do their jobs.

I hope Arte goes over the luxury tax

He does let them do their jobs. And that partially contributed to the struggle between Dipoto and Scioscia. He gave Dipoto the green light to implement his own philosophy, and it backfired. Arte had to moderate them multiple times to get them to shake hands. But Dipoto kept trying to run everything through the front office, trying to turn the coaching staff into his ‘yes man’ crew. Arte actually should’ve had a shorter leash on Dipoto, dealing with staff, players, etc.

What’s most impressive here is how the relatively younger Eppler isn’t afraid to surround himself with older, experienced, and fairly big names.

Didn’t Martone have the office down the hall from George Costanza?

I feel like both Black and Roenicke did pretty well as managers with the hands they were dealt, which sometimes werent a whole lot, and both were excellent as coaches prior to managing in the bigs. Solid move(s), depending on whether Black does indeed land in Anaheim ultimately.

Looks like the Halos found the new market inefficiency! Hoarding all of the managerial candidates may help rebuild our farm system.

Looks to me like the Angels philosophy is being restored, as it should be. I have this feeling that Mike Scioscia was given the courtesy of hand picking Bud Black to play a role in the front office or on the coaching staff as a possible bridge to replacing him.

Interesting thought. It makes sense
