To make room for Joel Zumaya, the Tigers designated reliever Denny Bautista for assignment today. Jon Paul Morosi says the Tigers tried to make a deal in advance but couldn't do it.
Bautista, 25, has already been with five organizations. He hasn't had much success, but he can throw hard.

Bautista was essentially Zumaya-lite, so the loss isn't a huge deal, but the decision is somewhat suprising to me.
I was certain that they'd send Freddy Dolsi back to the minors, despite his great year. I'm pleasently suprised that they're keeping him.
Regardless, I'm excited to see Zumaya back. He, along with maybe Lincecum, is one of the most entertaining pitchers to watch in the entire league.

Maybe he can become a promoter for Denny's. Serving up those grandslams. :)
