Seems like they could have gotten that kind of productivity out of Marte.

Sounds like either Blake is getting some interest or Marte is about to get the boot

seems like they could have, but they didn't...
Marte
.152/.204/.174
ouch. 174 slugging?

“The Tigers would've been interested in Barry Bonds if they didn't have Gary Sheffield, according to Jim Leyland.”
…Reason number 3 on the list of about 2000 things saying the Indians should have brought Bonds in… (Note to Indians: When your competitor wants him, you should too ~ esp when you have an obvious spot for him…)

(((Sorry about the last post ~ Type-Keys problems has me typing in Word and pasting into posts ~ that one ended up in wrong thread :\ )))
Anyway…
…They arent calling him up, they just signed him for depth. He’ll go to the minors, and if he shows he can hit then he might get a call-up.
Makes since incase other moves happen down the road (ie, trading one of the OFers and moving Blake back out there)

Please tell me how bringing in B-Roid helps the Tribe. He is a ghost of himself. This is not the answer. Tweak and rebuild, but then again...

Uhhh, maybe it was the 480 OBP and 565 SLG… That “ghost” of Bonds was afterall 6th in OPS…
…But hey, maybe youre right ~ the most feared hitting in baseball is probably a bad fit for a team currently sitting without a slugger…
Plus ~ it gives all the bias people the opportunity to continue the “b-roid” thing that they have somehow felt is funny for like 10 years or so…

I think Ensberg signing signals the end of MArte. Not a Bonds fan, but you can't argue that he'd help the lineup especially since Hafner could be out 2-4 more weeks. But theres no point talking about it, because Bonds isn't a fit with the Tribe, Shapiro would never do it.

Cleveland has a legitimate slugger in Kelley Shoppach.

future... why dont you throw yourself into that category. The only reason you aren't in guru's league is because you barely post anymore. Otherwise you would give him a run for his money for most annoying and uninformed dumba$$

futureprospect3 ~ that made me smile… :)
…But hey, did want to ask what brought you back? I was under the impression that everyone ran you off months ago when you were doing all that WhiteSox trolling… Well either that or that Tim went as far as banning ya…
“Cleveland has a legitimate slugger in Kelley Shoppach.”
…Hehehe.

The indians like to load up on over the hill veterans and hope they magically get back what they used to have. It almost never works, but they keep on trying. I am suprised they didn't give morgan a 3 yr, 3 million deal just like the likes of trot nixon, aaron boone, david delluci, jason michaels, jason johnson, old-berto hernandez, etc. This is insurance for when Marte is gone, even though he never plays and never will get a chance to. Blake will be on the indians as long a shapiro and wedge are in charge.

“…even though he (Marte) never plays and never will get a chance to. Blake will be on the indians as long a shapiro and wedge are in charge.”
…A truer statement then that probably cant be said. Who do you think Blake has those compromising photos on, Wedge, Shaprio or someone else? I cant think of another reason the team would have such a strange loyalty to him; a loyalty which seemingly started as soon as he played his first game for the Tribe back in 03…

I have no problem with Casey Blake as utility guy coming off the bench, but has he ever done anything to prove he should start? Doesn't make sense. Hopefully when we get Atkins, he'll finally be let go.
