Pettitte had a few bad starts around this time of year last year as well. When asked about returning next year, he refused to commit to anything.
After he signed his new contract, he was asked about his earlier comments. His response was basically "I wanted to keep playing, but I really couldn't talk about coming back when I was pitching badly."
If Pettitte has his typical second half, he'll return. If he keeps pitching the way he has been lately, he'll probably retire.

It would be about time the Twins cut their ties with Juan Rincon. He had his good years for them, but the last two years have been bad.

Pettitte will pitch next year in an yankee uni, even he knows that.
Also in regards to Viciedo, has there been a ruling yet as to whether or not he's an international free agent, undrafted free agent, or he'll have to wait and go through the draft next year.

Viciedo to the pirates? I highly doubt they could ever outbid Ny...though I believe they have some money due their relatively low 08 payroll and their ability still draw halfway decent crowds albeit bobbleheads and fireworks promotions, they have some dough to spend. None the less if this guy is what they say he is and they were some how able to lure him to Pgh and have him and Pedro Alvarez in the infield and Andrew Mccutcheon arriving very soon...they might not be too bad.

Weaver...What a joke. He better hope his brother will let him live off his end-trails.

The A's are going to spend $4M on an international free agent? They don't spend that much on major league free agents. Did someone kidnap Billy Beane or something?

The Twins needed to cut their ties with Rincon. He can't pitch like he did in 2006 when he was on roids. They should trade him for a single a player.

"Weaver has lost it"
He never lost it cuz he never had it.
