"John Maine left his start tonight with shoulder stiffness. If it's serious, Omar Minaya might want to check the starting pitching market."
The bullpen also torched a 3-2 lead in the 8th (gave up 5 runs).

"Yankees GM Brian Cashman denied the report that prospect Phil Coke has a torn labrum."
Just so you know, Coke pitched 2 innings out of the pen tonight: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?gid=2008_07_28_altaax_treaax_1&t=g_box&did=milb
He was removed early from his Friday start because he's approaching his innings cap.

What does everybody think of this deal for Roy Halladay.
Mets send Ollie Perez who can step in and take his spot in the rotation and if he walks can give the jays draft picks. We also send Niese, Carp, maybe another prospect and we take a bad contract off their hands.

Jays aren't trading Halladay. Especially not for Perez. Why would the Mets want to trade Perez anyway? He kills the Phillies and Braves.

^^ are you kidding me when you said bad contract off their hands?
Roy halladay i would consider the one of the best in MLB.
If the jays do trade Doc, it would not be for perez.
they have better pitchers in the minors who don't walk hitters.
perez is not half the pitcher Doc is and i bet perez is going to want more than 10 mill a year, Doc makes 10 million this year.

You want Doc Halladay? Fernando Martinez, John Maine, Jon Niese, Wilmer Flores, Scott Moviel for Doc Halladay and Matt Stairs. I wonder if that would even get it done? But a package like that is what you are talking about.
