The Blanton trade should be the end for pitching trades for the Phillies before this deadline IMO. Burnett isn't putting up significantly better numbers this year than Blanton. He's overall a better pitcher, but not by much...Seriously, stop trading young players for marginal improvements.

Interesting that he's looking for a lefty reliever and didn't get Embree thrown into the Blanton deal.

as a met fan, i hope the phillies do get burnett. if not for the bullpen meltdown, all talk would have been on blanton looked every bit of his 5-12 record on the mound.

As a Braves fan, I have no problem with the Phils blowing their farm system on mediocre pitching. Keep it up!
